    De La Hoya's next opponent?

I have posted this hundreds of times before im worried he hasn't announced another fight. Im presuming his wife Mila is winning, talking him into retirement. Although if he was to fight someone next, i have to say all my research points at Vernon Forrest, his WBC title would look good in the De La Hoya trophy cabinet, and the more titles the bigger legacy for the champ.

Forrest would probably outbox him, just like Spinks at 154... but he said he is moving down to 147 (almost for sure I thought). Cotto really does seem like the best option for him, but since that can't happen, I really don't know who he should fight. Paul Williams or Kermit Cintron is probably his best bet, but they aren't big enough names for him I don't think.

Well, they don't have phone booth sized rings, so I don't think that is a concern.

oscar wouldn't' fight him, not big enuff fight.
but that would be a good fight, both looked good last fight. i'd favor oscar in a close fight (oscar almost beat p4p #1, while forrest beat baldo)

Forrest would destroy Oscar for 12 rounds. Then Oscar would cry and say he got robbed like he always does when he loses. Moron still thinks he beat Mayweather that night and so do his nutt-hugging fans

I do think if Oscar will fight Viper Forrest, he will be KO by Viper because he is too big and too strong for Oscar. My best choice for his opponent is the winner of Cotto Vs Hatton.

Richard Schaefer said that Oscar is fighting in May 2008 on B-Talk the other day. Some say that Cintron or Williams arent big enough names, but i can see Oscar using that as a tuneup, hopefully grab a belt, and be ready for a big fight in September. He did say he plans to fight twice in 08, so i wouldnt mind that.

I don't understand why he's waiting till May 2008, so he can gather more ring rust. His inactivity will be his down fall. He should fight a tune up in December, but he won't. I think he should fight Forrest, he at least has a chance at beating Forrest and it might make him feel better about his two loses to Mosley. But, is Forrest a big enough name now? If Mosley gets past Cotto? Maybe DelaHoya Mosley III? Winky would be too big and too hard to hit for Oscar.
