It would likely become a tactical event with both fighters sticking to their boxing gameplan. I would expect Calzaghe to flurry on the inside, and Pavlik to shoot straight rights from the outside. Pavlik could definitely take Calzaghe's best punches, and Joe could definitely take some of Pavlik's bombs if need be but he would do his best to avoid them.

If I had to pick I'd vote for Calzaghe to pull out a unanimous decision.

Even if Pavlik loses to Taylor, if he manages the speed well i think he'd beat Calzaghe. But if Taylors speed gives Pavlik all sorts of trouble, then Pavlik could win by very lopsided decision.

The fight i REALLY wanna see is KESSLER-PAVLIK. Thats one of the best Supermiddleweights fights in a looong ass time. Maybe ever, considering the hellacious brawl it could turn into

Pavlik is even more tailor made for Calzaghe than Kessler is. And that's saying something.

Pavlik doesn't even have what it takes to beat Jermain Taylor, so he ain't never gonna get a shot at Calzaghe. Seriously, get off the Kelly Pavlik wagon before it goes crashing off the cliff next month. You'll look a lot more intelligent when it happens.

I'd favor Calzaghe but Kelly said that time he was on ESPN he'd go to Wales and fight Joe. Dino the Dinosaur.

Calzaghe wins this fight all day. It would be like the Lacy fight but not as bad. He's far too quick for him and Pavlik is moving up. Calzaghe only fights bums but you cant deny his skills. The most underrated thing about him is his strength. Pavlik has been way stronger then everyone he's fought but Calzaghe will be stronger then him and Pavlik's punch wont effect Calzaghe even half as much as it does those guys at 160. I pick Calzaghe by a wide decision but wouldnt be shocked if he stopped him

It would be a great fight, Calzaghe gets drawn into wars easily. The first few rounds would be great but after that Calzaghe's domination should show.

Calzaghe can actually slip, duck and counter. He slaps Pavlik alllll niiiiiight.

Kelly is still a bit robotic. He's got some work to do.
