We won't know because Kelly Pavlik changed his mind about moving up to 168, and the time he moves up to 168. Calzaghe will be either retired or in another weight class.

That's a tough fight. I think if anybody could really give Joe a tough fight at 168 besides Kessler it would be Pavlik because of his nonstop pressure. You also have to consider that Pavlik is a damn good boxer with solid defensive skills, and when he throws power shots he throws them with pinpoint accuracy.

It would likely become a tactical event with both fighters sticking to their boxing gameplan. I would expect Calzaghe to flurry on the inside, and Pavlik to shoot straight rights from the outside. Pavlik could definitely take Calzaghe's best punches, and Joe could definitely take some of Pavlik's bombs if need be but he would do his best to avoid them.

If I had to pick I'd vote for Calzaghe to pull out a unanimous decision.

I don't get why everyone thinks that Kelly Pavlik is so good. He beat one of the most one-dimensional fighters in the sport today.

Calzaghe would crush Pavlik. Pavlik is okay, but not nearly polished enough to keep up with Calzaghe. Calzaghe's chin is underrated too, Lacy caught him a few times, and Lacy hits hard (it's his only talent). Anyways, even if nothing else I said is true, Calzaghe's workrate would be too much for Pavlik.

i think that joe is way too fast for any boxer unless they can ko him. there are boxers who have styles to make him look bad, but not defeat him. joe can take a bomb tbh, and if hes hurt he gets angry and starts throwing so many more combo's. i think that its possible if someone can actually take his flurries then they may be able to ko him. dunno if tis pavlik though.

If anything I'd say Pavlik is underrated. He has a few supporters around here(me being one of them), but more often than not people overlook him. I was a huge fan of his prior to his annihilation of Miranda and you can really see his talent in some of his older fights.

Don't be surprised if Pavlik upsets Taylor and carves himself out a top notch spot in the Middleweight Division....because he has all the talent he needs to do so.

I've watched alot of Pavlik fights and he is the same in almost all his fights, the guy gets hit alot and takes alot of punches. Is Pavlik already punch-drunk? He took hard bombs from Miranda, Zertuche, and Fulgencio Zuniga. People can say his chin is hard, but when you take hard punches like that your whole career, how much gas does Pavlik really have left in him is the real question?

pavlik is good with guys that stand and trade with him, cal would just move and use his speed and land "point punches" trying not to get hit, like he did againts lacy

thats one of the worst posts i've seen in a while, considering Pavlik is pretty young.

miranda is 1 mindensional and lacy is one dimensional, so i wouldnt put calzaghe's win over lacy any higher then palvik's win over lacy
