That one was a setup for it. I think hopkins took the liberty in hyping this fight up and didn't tell winky what he was going to do. Though winky was still laughing after it all, as if he knew what Hopkins was doing.

the commissions will do anything to get more money. weigh, press conference, what ever, it doesn't matter, if they see anywhere they can snag up a couple extra bucks they'll do it. **** the commissions would kick their own mothers in the teeth for a few extra bucks!!!!

****, how many times have boxers done this kind of stuff but worse and nothing happened to them? they just pick and choose how is the best to bank off of............

Boxing's MOB rob's Hopkins of hard earned cash...not surprising.

If I was Hopkins though, I'd walk up to the little short fat guy's office, snatch his hair piece off, and squeeze his throat till he gave me my 200 g's back.

As corrupt as this sport is, why can't a fighter shove another fighters face for a few more tickets and PPV's sold?

The Hypocrisy Of Bernard And Oscar

Hopkins SAID that he did it just to hype up the PPV numbers.

Guys, remember: Hopkins isn't just a participant. He is an equity partner in one of the biggest promotional companies. He is, in essence, an "officer of the court". There is - and should be- a higher standard of behaviour for him.

ALSO, do you remember how Oscar and Bernard were criticizing Floyd for TALKING **** during a press conference? Oscar was pissed that Mayorga was insulting him. Oscar was so mad, and was saying on 24/7 how Floyd is supposed to be a top fighter and is acting poorly at the presscons. Bernard said it was because PBF was nervous, scared, yadda yadda.

HOW HYPOCRITICAL IS THAT?? What did Oscar say about Bernard 'mushing' Winky?

Would you let somebody in the street talk ****? Would you let them 'mush' your face?

It is 6% (SIX PERCENT) of Bernard's fight purse. And BHop made more as a promotional partner. The fine is appropriate.

Because if somebody mushed your face, you would throw a punch. What if you hurt your hand?

How does it benefit the IMAGE of the sport for two senior, top five P4P guys to be brawling at a presscon? And then Hopkins admits that he staged it to sell tickets. Reinforcing the perception that boxing is often pre-planned and rigged.

How many presscon brawls have you seen in MMA?

He deserved to be fined. I heard a couple of people including Roach were shaken up. But 200,000 is absolutely ridiculous. After taxes and fees for his trainers, promoters, etc. he'll barely receive anything. I was thinking maybe 50 grand.
