Tyson is more popular than De La Hoya and Hatton in the US and internationally.

I dont know who all these De La Hoya fans are, probably illegal mexican immigrants.

fair enough. think its a lot to do with demographics too. seems that fighters with an immigrant followin garner more support. people like gatti, ward, dlh get so much support from irish, italian and mexican americans. gives them a way of supportin their ancestral heritage. and people always like humble fighters, which is what they are. if hatton or even frank bruno got killed tomorrow in a car crash there'd be national mourning in a way there wouldnt be if they were arrogant bastards. in this way fighters like pbf dont really get fans who LOVE them, just fight fans who respect their skills

That's BS everytime I hear it that black American fighters are at a disadvantage in boxing and people dont like them because they dont have 'immigrant followings' or whatever. Total BS. Black American have an inordiante amount of influence in boxing and Tyson is easily the most popular fighter for a long time.

Everybody knows the name Mike Tyson, and the people who know him even less think he's a ferocious animal that is to be feared, he draws interests, period.
