Cause he didnt GAIN anything from it. And "B" he's not even playing that angle cause that would be the most rediculous thing ever. AND he's said he wants Mosley afterward

I've said before and still belive: Mayweather's retirement was Floyd basically saying "Ask me to stay...please." Instead, everyone just laughed at him in the press but people who believe anything they read at least 'showed love.'

floyd is doing almost whatever it takes to create a demand for him. the retirement thing is and was a big joke. he thinks that everyone is as dumb as he is when it comes to this stuff.

whatever, keep hitting people and think you're a genius floyd.

i like the fact that he says he was retiring before he had any real huge fight, (the DLH fight was hype and brought nothing to the table for boxing) he has had no monumental fight that would automatically put him in the hall of fame, solidly. a performance that would leave us with no doubt that he's great. i get sick and tired of him calling himself great without doing what the great ones have done and that is beat all there is to beat out there.

his retirement is/was a PR move and a obvious and poor one at that.

floyd just needs to give the fans what they want to see and let it run it's course, he keeps trying to spin things and make himself more then what he has achieved. with all that spinning you'd think he would have a job working in politics.....................

It was just angering cause we all knew he wasnt gonna retire, and none of us wanted him to retire, but he still stayed adamint about it.
Deep down Floyd really just begs for attention. He's really insecure and he wants people to love him. So he pulls stunts like that to get attention. He tries to cover it with a conceited personality, but I see right through that.

            **rant rant rant**

For all the days he was retired he meant it. **** changes.

Now he doesn't want to be retired.

I'm glad he changed his mind. Now we get the fights Boxing needs.

and i here what you're saying, **** does change, but the fact of the matter was that his retirement was a ploy.

and also if he does make the fights we want to see cool, but really as a whole boxing doesn't need floyd mayweather, boxing needs guys that bring exciting fights not only to the hardcore fans such as ourselves but to the mainstream, floyd wont transcend the sport like barerra or morales did, or how pacquiao is doing, or how hatton is doing. nothing along the lines of how DLH did it, or Foreman, Ali, Ray Robinson.........see what i'm saying????

floyd needs boxing to feed his attention starved ego, floyd needs boxing to get heard and to be seen, which he craves so desperately, floyd has gotten out of boxing way more then he's given to it. what is floyd going to do once he actually does retire? go global with his " ****** Rich Records " that hasn't produced one album or even one track???? and they have been supposedly operating for years now, what a joke, although a failing business is a good write off for taxes and since floyd is so "****** Rich" i'm sure he needs it................haha, not one track!

A ploy? Perhaps, although it looked more like a bratty move when it happened. Floyd was literally crying when he made the announcement. I think we're giving Mayweather too much credit to put any complex or diabolical meaning behind it. He is an immature overly insulated man child surrounded by yes men. He meant it when he retired, no ploy.

Mayweather as the P4P #1 performer in Boxing is something the sport can benefit from - especially if he puts in more P4P #1 type performances.

Non Boxing enthusiasts are at least curious about this concept if nothing else.

And its not even like hes coming back for just one more fight. He just completely blew off the entire retirement process, and has said he wants Mosley and other big fights.

Dont get me wrong, im happy he's back cause hes very very very very good for the sport and its future, but things like that piss me off. Why did he even bother? he could have hand selected his opponent either way...
He did this to get more people to buy the DLH and Mayweather fight.

Exactly. Boxing does not need selfish cowards like Floyd. His fights are not exciting. He is a runner. His style is cowardly. Like ive said many times. Stay retired and go broke ********. We dont need you or your boring running fights anymore. I used to like you when you were hungry. Now your just a greedy little immature kid who thinks your all that but in fact... your just a coward little 50 cent wanna be loser. Your a joke just like your retirement.
