Sooooo, every time a fighter says that he is "in the best shape of his life" or that he "is going to win", and then doesn't....that pisses you off?

Boxers say stuff. Athletes say stuff. Get over it, mijo.

And just to be clear: DLH is the one who said that he would make it a "rough, tough, dirty fight". The proof is still on YT.

i think the point is...he says he is going to do something..then in the fight..does nothing like it..now if he came out..and tried to knock Oscar out..then fair enough..but it was never in his mind to do that...so in effect he ws lying...which pisses folks off....now if he said...im gna stick n move,he aint gna get close to me..blah blah...and then he did that...great...he said he was gna do it..he did it...but if he says he is gna knock smoeone out..n then makes no attempt to knock them out...then thats another matter all together

Ricky hatton is absolutely right.

floyd mayweather jr. is a great fighter...in the ring.

out of the ring you cant help but not like this guy (in my opinion). he acts like a jerk 95% of the time.

i admire his skills and think he's great from the opening bell to the final bell but after that he just changes into something thats hard to stand behind. thats why i'd like to see him lose because maybe then he will wake up and be more down to earth.

so to clear everything up (for those who say im a mayweather hater) i dont hate mayweather...as i said i admire his skills and love to watch him in the fights...but i DONT like it when he talks trash he doesnt back up (if he backed it up that would be one thing) and i dont like his poor, self-involved attitude.

you can bet ricky is going to try and bring the fight to him on december 8th...its going to be good...no matter who wins.

Yeah he does appear to be a jerk at times. But at the same time he's really into helping less fortunate kids and charity work.

I'm sure Floyd knows people dislike him but he must not care very much. All he does is talk ****. I don't see a problem with that. He does go back on his word numerous times though.

Hatton is %100 correct in his asessing of Floyd Mayweather. You know, Roy Jones used to be full of himself and talk about himself in the third person and all that, but he did all that with CHARISMA and you knew besides all the crap he talked that he was just doing it for fun, kind of like Ali did. Everyone knows Jones is a nice guy out of the ring as well. When Mayweather talks about himself, you just can't help but dislike the guy. He does it with arrogance and is the epitome of gaudy "hip-hop thugishness". I just can't stand the guy and hope he realizes one day that he acted like such an ******.

The only way that'll happen is if he loses. Its up to Hatton to that. If he can't he'll still run his mouth.

Nah, thats a load of bull**** to justify his arsehole behaviour. If that was the case, after the fight he'd be all hand-shakes and saying that it was just about hyping himself up and selling the fight, like Tyson used to. Mayweather doesnt, he continues it after he has beaten his opponent, even claiming to have 'whooped' them when he hasnt. The reason being because despite his undoubted skill in the ring, he is an unpleasant person out of it.

Thats a pretty good point. i mentioned earlier that he likes to help out kids. Guess thats the only good thing about him.

You're right.

In sports, the absolute smart thing to do is to give your gameplan to the fans, media and the other fighter and his camp.

Preferably, you should give them the gameplan months in advance so they have ample time to prepare for that.

There should never be deception, secrets or trickery in professional sports.
