I'm very impressed (as always) by the respectable, "gentelmens" attitude from cotto.
its good to know guys like that still exist because if this was someone else (no offense...but like mayorga) we all know he'd be calling oscar a *****.
cotto is very classy...something we need more of in this sport.
i dont think its wrong for oscar to listen to his wife on this. i think she is being a little dramatic assuming it would cause problems in puerto rico because oscar and cotto are classy guys who wouldnt cause some type of bad reaction to either fighter. i could see these guys being good friends after the fight no matter who wins.
either way i disagree with those who think it would be an easy fight for either fighter. i DO think it would be a slugfest that would mesaure up along the lines of (maybe not to the greatness and extent of; but none the less a reminder of) gatti/ward, miranda/pavlik, castillo/corrales, etc.
it would not be an easy fight for either fighter and i think when it would be over you would swear (judging by their beat up bruised/bloody faces) that they were two heavyweights slugging it out for 12 rounds.
both of these men are tough and can take a punch (as well as give them).
it would be a close fight and the outcome would most likely be whoever catches who with a good clean punch first.
could it go the distance? possibly but not very likely.
i personally would love to see this fight. no matter who would win they'd both be winners in my opinion...just based on the level of punishment in the fight.
we could possibly see this fight happen in 08 because theres a lot of time between now and then and oscar could possibly work it out with his wife...and even if it doesnt get worked out there is other oppenents oscar can fight...so its not the end of the road.
