at 140, the speed thing is a non-issue, I agree, but Hatton loses more speed than mayweather in the jump to 147.
Hatton will enter the ring at around 150 lbs, he was about 160 against Collazo and looked awful. He's going to look very sharp against Mayweather.

As for Mayweather measuring Oscar, Oscar is not an inside fighter. He was playing at inside fighting as a tactic, Hatton naturally fights inside. The only way Mayweather could make reach a factor in this fight is by keeping Hatton at the end of his jab. Mayweather tends not to keep anyone at the end of his jab, it isn't his fight.

      Hatton always looks sharp.

For someone for whom keeping people at the end of their jab is "not their fight", mayweather sure did a hell of a lot of it his last three fights...

DLH is a better fighter than hatton with more size I'm sorry to say, if he couldnt do it then Hatton certainly cant. Hatton has more leg speed though...
If we see the EXACT same hatton that we saw vs Castillo speed wise we could be in for a treat, but a slower hatton will not touch mayweather due to the height and reach difference.

BTW, most people dont know this but it doesnt matter what weight you come in at the fight date generally (yeah yeah, gatti/gamache was different), the weigh in decides what the pure muscle mass, the main slowing factor, will be.

Hatton will get knocked out while running in to hold PBF after throwing a wild right.

I think Hatton has the style to make Floyd look like a super hero out there.

I disagree. Mayweather is one of those guys who uses lass jabs and spends most of the time standing with his left arm tucked around his waist. He'll have his hand tucked in there even more against Hatton who will be punishing the ribcage whenever he gets the chance.

I'm not overdoing Hatton's chances. I'm picking Hatton by decision in a close fight, because there's just soemthing special about this matchup, but I know that any win for Hatton is an upset.

well, we'll have to agree to disagree, but I hope youre right. Mayweather throws a LOT of jabs, and his pot-shotting right hand is so quick it functions like a jab(though its so weak...). The thing is, Hatton is good at slipping punches but when he gets hit on the way in its not like he just eats it and throws like GAtti, he usually stops. Its not so easy to slip PBF, especially when you lose speed at that weight.

hatton is pretty fast dude, not as fast but he can hit you from so many angles with such limited reach...he'd HAVE to have amazing foot speed.

Yes, Hattons' style is the perfect one to give Mayweather's fits

As others' above have mentioned it's a case of Rock-Paper-Scissors or Foreman-Ali-Frazier if you want.

Let me break this in two parts:

                  1) Hatton is the one to make Mayweather fight

                  Hatton is a brawler.

Hatton throws a lot of punches.

Hatton's hand are the fastest Floyd could face with the possible exception of
Mosley (possible becasue we are talking about a 36 year old Mosley).
Hatton is the fastest fighter I have seen at closing the distance.

                  Hatton attacks with angles.

                  2) Hatton misses a couple of things to make me bet on him.

JAB. Oscar recently against Floyd (and other fights in the past) show that a long stiff jab work wonders against "fancy" boxers (well it actually works wonders in general). If Hatton has one, I personally did not see it.

DEFENSE. Hatton gets hit way too much, he is not getting knocked out, but there are huge chances that he gets cut.

Let me add this is going to be a great fight. No other fighter is going to have Floyd throw so many punches and no other fighter is going to hit him so many times.

On this forum there is a ton of posters hating on Hatton because he is a brit, degrading his career because he looked bad against Collazo and Urango, and becasue Castillo and Zoo were old. The same ppl picked Zoo and Castillo to murder him in the ring. Dont make their mistake, Cotto is p4p material and his performances against Castillo and Zoo after a lot of ppl picked him to be busted up speak volume.

                    Also, everyone talks about Cotto.
Cotto is way too slow for Mayweather.
Cotto has great power and is bigger than Floyd.
That's the perfect formula for Mayweather fighting on the defensive (he can because Cotto is slow and he must because Cotto has a knockout punch) and therfore a boring fight.
