He landed more then 100 punches on Tua, he clearly won that fight, I guess you were paying attention to the Lederman card, which was a joke.

Ike was a monster, he would've beaten Wlad and Peter easily, the only guy that would've had a chance againt Ike was Vitali.

If Ike never went to prison, I think he would've dominated the heavyweight division for a long time, he had a great chin, great power, good skills, and good speed.

I think ike would have beat all the abc champs ruiz brewster rahman etc he already beat byrd who at one point was considered the best heavyweight. i think a fight with lennox would have been interesting i would have to favour lewis but i believe ike had the power to ko lewis and was much faster than tua so i can see him landing some punches on lewis.

Here's the thing about Ike you have to remember. He had Tua's chin and punch, was taller than Tua, and had better stamina. Look at how much Tua was able to accomplish without much skill and without being in shape most of his career. The one meaningful fight Tua was in perfect shape was this fight with Ike, and it was a war. And yes it was better than Foreman Lyle or Bowe-Holyfield I.

To me, Ike was like Rid**** Bowe but with determination. I think only Vitali and Lewis would have stood a chance against him.

            Based on what?

A controversial at best win over Tua and a knockout over a blown up MW?

So that alone is reason enough to talk about how great he could have been..........to the point where people are picking him in fantasy matches against established Great Heavyweights like Holyfield and Lewis?

                I don't think so.

Let's just say he had tools.........that's fine. But the overrating in the classical sense should be pointed out when people start claiming greatness.

He plodded forward against Tua throwing slow jabs and using limited footwork like Rahman did in the second fight, and he knocked out Byrd in a competitive fight where Byrd made the mistake of getting caught on his bicycle.

i am not saying he would beat holyfield lewis bowe etc, i just think he would have beat all the title holders in the early 00's except lewis and maybe vitali but that would have been a close fight imo. byrd won 1 round in that fight ike did better against him than wlad and vitali, the reason byrd got caught was because ike had fast hands for his size if you compare the vitali and ike fights you can see that ike was throwing and landing body punches and power punches much better than vitali thats all i was saying about the byrd fight.

Hey Run I think you might be downplaying Ike a bit because some of the more crazed boxing fans have overated him. (Not necassarily in this thread) Ike did alot more than plod around with Tua. His jab was snapping & damn consistent against Tua. This guy was throwing damn near 100 punches per round & not to mention he had great hand speed for a heavy. And if I remember correctly when he fought Byrd Roy commented on how fast Ike was during the fight. And Byrd was losing that fight till he was KO'ed. The first 2 or rounds were frustrating for Ike but after that it was lights out. In fact the commentators couldn't believe how much Byrd was getting tagged.
