Nice piece but keep this in mind...Floyd has yet to sell tickets or PPV as an A-side. I think the average fan who came for Oscar saw just enough Floyd to not come back again right away.

You have not been paying attention.

        1) Who sold the 340K PPV buys for Mayweather-Baldomir? And the 10K seats?

        2) Who sold the 400K PPV buys (and filled T&M) for Mayweather-Judah?

        3) How many PPV's has Gatti led in his LIFE? Mayweather-Gatti did 360K.

PBF's uncle is a ****ing hater. PBF told the world he chose the role of villian so how does he not know what he is doing. It is real smart of people in here to listen to what Jeff Mayweather is saying considering he hasn't spoken to PBF in 8 yrs. A lot can change in 8 yrs. To add on to the fact of how much of ***** his uncle is how can it not affect a child to have is his father go to jail and his mother be a junkie? No matter who raised PBF when all that was going to for his uncle to act like that **** shouldn't matter shows you what kind of person he is more than anything. Something is really wrong Mayweather Sr. when you want all the credit for what your son is in the ring doing. Don't get me wrong yes Mayweather Sr deserves some credit a lot of credit but it doesn't matter what a trainer teaches a fighter if that fighter doesn't have the ability to execute it in the ring. Mayweather Sr. doesn't understand that that yes he trained his son but it is also his son's ability to execute what he taught him which is why he is great. Mayweather Sr. is ****ed up for that and he needs to change that **** and treat his son like the man he is. When a father goes to jail and the son is a grown man by the time the father gets out. The father has to realize that they're relationship is now forever changed because your son became a man without you. Even still when a father's son becomes a man without the father going to jail the relationship changes because the father must resepct his son as a man then respect him as a son.

So you think Mayweather will be the B-side against Hatton? All the buys that PPV gets will all be credited to Hatton?

$pam: NOt at all; Floyd is the A-side here. This PPV will tell us a lot about his drawing power; the ticket sales will as well. Hatton is bringing his; Mayweather's have to meet up.

As to the numbers mentioned, those numbers are average star numbers in boxing. If Ryan is arguing that Mayweather is the lead dog draw, than his numbers without DLH need to be at least the best in the sport besides DLH. Time will tell, and I think, again, that the Hatton fight will speak volumes.

That is wrong. Those numbers are ABOVE AVERAGE for the name recognition of the opposition.

You're out of your mind. Gatti and Judah had been heavily featured in mainstream sports media, well above and beyond anything Mayweather had ever experienced. Gatti-Ward I was voted TV Guide sporting event of the year; Judah got a MASSIVE profile in SI prior to Tszyu and was the B-side of a heavily covered, and big-ticket drawing, fight with Spinks. In other words, both were arguably more famous than Floyd at fight time. As to Baldo, 10,000 seats full is not the same as tickets sold and the PPV #'s were lower than for either of the other bouts. 275-375 is about average and that's what Floyd did without DLH. Tito and Vargas are some of the only fighters who have gotten much above that consistently this decade.
