That's why I consulted his uncle Jeff for the article. He has seen Floyd behind closed doors.Comment

You are wrong.Factor in these circumstances:
1. People were starting to really find out who Floyd Mayweather is.
2. He was ranked p4p #1.
3. People wanted to see how he does against one of the best.
4. De La Hoya has always been recognized as one of the best.
5. Obviously the fight would sell.
It's the SIGNIFICANCE of the fight that helped sell...not Mayweather.
Felix Trinidad and Shane Mosley fulfilled the above criteria.
Their fights did 1.3 mil and 1.0 mil...NOT 2.2 MIL.
Ask yourself: If Winky was P4P #1 (he was close) , would Oscar /Winky do 2.2 mil??
The Dominican God says "hell no".Last edited by DIOS DOMINICANO; 08-13-2007, 02:34 PM.Comment

Gatti would still sell out anywhere in Atlantic City, but we know he is no PBF....sales are not everything....and of course you would compare PBF to possibly the two biggest draws in boxing history....Comment

Oscar didn't have money, he doesn't flash it off. As Jeff Mayweather said, "he's acting like he's n***a rich."Comment

LOL! Floyd Mayweather knows exactly what he is doing. Nice guys don't sell Pay Per Views. Anyone who believe this isn't a act to sell fights is DUMB. Your DUMB if you truly believe this.Last edited by Grappler_Baki60; 08-13-2007, 02:35 PM.Comment
