Yep. Read about this before. He had four weeks to get ready for the rematch. He was overweight by at least 20 pounds.

Many people say he doesn't like to talk about the second Leonard fight but that was the explanation he gave in the DVD. Duran had way too much pride to just quit so I doubt he would lie about it and make excuses so I think what he says could be true.

I believe Duran. BUT! I know Duran couldn't deal with a out boxing SRL. He could sure as hell beat him as a infighter but not in outboxer.

ray leonard was GREEN the first fight...he wasnt smart, nor did he have power at that point in his career

Leonard did everything he could do against Duran in the first fight, it's just that Duran was a different fighter in the second.

Not quite. Leonard ignored his corner's pleas to box, but decided to fight mano y mano with Duran and lost.
