Joshua Clottey Wins, Aiming For a Title

After winning the biggest fight of his career, a lopsided twelve round decision against Diego Corrales in April, welterweight contender Joshua Clottey (32-2, 20 KOs) thought he would be on the fast road to a title shot. Instead, Clottey is standing on outside while bigger names in his division are challenging each other in high-stakes pay-per-view showdowns. [details]

He poses a problem with anyone because of his physical condition and work ethic. Those things just can't be even argued or disputed at this point.

People are inflating his skills and abilities though. He has tools, but nobody in their right mind can put him in a top 5 list at welterweight........especially seeing as how Oscar moved back down.

And I only typed the last part because believe it or not, people were really quick to call him one of the top welterweights.

Top 10 for sure, no doubt though.

I think putting him in there against either Cotto or Cintron would be very exciting

A fight with my boy Judah would be very exciting as well.

as mentioned, a fight with Judah would be ideal as well as Cintron. I think Contron and Clottey would benefit from fighting each other. Clottey has credibility due to his voctory over Corrales and his early domination of Margarito (whether you believe he faded because of an injured hand or not). Clottey is a top ten welterweight who could give a good fight for any top guy, but isn't quite there, he's not polished enough from the outside to shine. Quite honestly, I would LOVE to see Quartey move down and fight Clottey, or Herman Ndoujo (sp?) move up from light welter.

well most of the title holder will win.

He need another contender to show he could fight well. But Cintron could take him to be busy.

a rematch against Margarito but I dont see Margarito have something to offer him.

so Zab Judah is a good option for him because Zab will be desprate to fight anyone with his couple of loss in a row.

                so Zab Judah it is

Clintron, Williams seems the most likely now as others probably will shy away from them now... WW is so stacked it could be hard for him to break out tuff spot for Clottey... Grady Brewer, Vernon Forrest

I think he beats Williams, Cintron and Cotto are winnable, but they're tough fights, and Floyd makes him look silly. There are your four titleholders and how I think he'd fare against them.

He should really fight Williams and take the WBO title.
