2007 is probably the best in a long time, alot of fights we wanted to see have already happened and there is more to come
Best Year of Boxing (from 2000 to 2007)

That was 2006.I didn't include 2007 becuase it's not over yet, so I said 2005:
Mayweather-Gatti
Trinidad-Wright
Tszyu-Hatton
Hopkins Taylor I
Hopkins Taylor II
Jones-Tarver III
Pacquaio-Morales III
Judah-Spinks II
Oh yeah... and Corrales-Castillo I and II.
That's a pretty tough year to beat, but if the end of 2007 lives up the hype, it may take the cake.Comment

2000 was an amazing year because it had Morales-Barrera I, De La Hoya-Mosley I and Vargas-Trinidad, but I'm more excited about this year.
Besides, this year already had the biggest fight in boxing history and the second half of the year looks downright amazing.Comment

2002 also had Ward-Gatti I
but still, this year is delivering all the fights people have been calling for. this is huge stuff we're experiencing right now.Comment

De La Hoya Maywether is not the biggest fight in history...
Not even close.
Ali Frazier 1
Ali Foreman
But the biggest fight ever has to be Louis vs Max 2. The whole world watched.
De La Hoya is the biggest fight of the recent years, but to say it's the biggest fight in boxing history is pretty ignorant if you ask me.Comment

I think any year when a Barrera-Morales and a Gatti-Ward fight don't win fight of the year because the best Gatti-Ward fight (which is the most exciting fight I have ever seen) happened in a year makes it my vote for best year for boxing. But it's hard for me to say, because I basically got into boxing after I saw a rerun of the Mayweather Baldomir fight, and really got into it after I saw Dawson-Adamek... I decided I was going to watch as much live boxing as I could... so I don't know how hyped up some of the bouts of previous years are... meaning that I probably have a skewed view of boxing history. But from my limited perspective, I vote 2002.Comment
