I despise Ricky Hatton for talking **** about Mayweather for two years but turning down fights with him on three occasions before finally agreeing to this fight now that he's ready to cash out and retire. If you don't want to fight someone, fine, but don't talk **** about them.

Plus Hatton's resume is as padded as it gets and isn't even half as good as Mayweather's at this point. The b.s. about the guys getting questionable decisions is utter nonsense. Hatton edged Collazo just like Mayweather edged Castillo, but the difference is Mayweather won his fight against a better opponent and only had one arm. There is absolutely nothing bad you can say about Mayweather right now as far as his ring credentials go. He has fought everyone with the exception MAYBE of Casamayor.

The Gatti win was necessary to push him into the spotlight. Casual fans suddenly knew who he was and saw that he was the best in the world once Hopkins lost to Taylor the next month.

Besides, Tszyu was old. Hatton gets little credit for beating Tszyu just like Mayweather gets no credit for beating Gatti, but at least Mayweather got name recognition out of it. What did Hatton get? Nothing until he came to the states and beat Castillo.
