He's a solid champion but he's not a top notch fighter. It wasn't a war, it was kind of tactical but I thought it was very entertaining, the action started after the Mayol kd in the 6th. My point was if Mayol was as talented as people were claiming he would have beaten Solis who's a good champion in a division that doesn't have a clear dominating champion, and if there is one it's Cazares.

Mayol failed to capitalize on that left hook in the 6th. It was a good moment for him to finish ulises and he failed to seize it. Ulises was defending intuitively in the ropes and mayol just kept on missing. In the 7th solis hit mayol with a powerful livers hot that changed the complexion of the fight completely. I think it broke mayol's rib or two and it was precisely that liver shot that mayol was trying to avoid when he was caught by a right phantom punch that finished the fight.Comment

Mayol was relying on his power. He got over confident after he hurt Solis on the 6th round. Before the KO, Mayol seems like wanted to throw a power punch, hesitsated, then he did it again. His lead hand were also low and extended, away from protecting his head. Solis, the more experienced fighter, took advantage of this and landed the KO punch. Also, Mayol's trainer was shouting at him during the breaks. Mayol needs to work on his defense.Comment
