AM i the only one NOT COMPLAINING about the STOPPAGE here...

I mean, granted the stoppage was definetly quick.

BUT, the shots Marquez was throwing were WEAK and even less then PITTER PATTER shots.

And even when he slipped a bit on the canvas he was NOT on steady legs and wobbled back to the ropes.

And then he slid down the ropes like his legs werent there.

Im 99% sure Vazquez would have landed another BOMB within 10-15 seconds, and Marquez would have maybe gotten up cause hes got a lot of heart, but would have wobbled around and the fight would have certainly been stopped.

And since im SOOOOO sure that would have happend, or something even worse, why risk it ACTUALLY happening and having Marquez Hurt. Its senseless and the REF made a good call IMO.

I am not complaining about stoppage either, nor do I see many people doing it.

Good stoppage like the ref said the fighters health and life is the most important thing.

His legs had nothing to do with it. You have to look at his eyes. You can make an argument that he was throwing back, but it was all instinct, alot like the fighters that lay on the canvas punching after a brutal knockout.

You could see it in his eye. He was done.

I thought the stoppage was a good one. Marquez wasn't going to make a comeback from where he was.

It was a good stoppage. It seemed early, but if he let it go on 4 more punches it would have been brutal. His legs were done, and his expression bascially said it all.

Vazquez, one of the hardest punchers p4p in the sport, would have nailed dhim about 3-4 clean bombs.

I would have let the fight go on for atleast 15 more seconds , I thought it was quick.

When you say it that way Kball your probably right. It wasn't worth the risk at the moment because I think Vasquez would have eventually put Marquez down. When you watch right before the stoppage you see Marquez back up on wobbly feet and the look in his face was like he was out of it and thats probably why the ref stopped it. At first I was mad because it ended early like the first fight and the action was only getting better, but now there will probably be a third fight and after this fight anything can happen.

I think the stoppage came at an odd time. Most stoppages come when a fighter is either clearly out on his feet, not throwing punches, not defending himself, or he has just suffered multiple hard blows. None of that was happening in this fight when it was stopped. Sure, Vazquez had Marquez hurt and Israel was landing hard punches, but at the time the fight was stopped Vazquez landed a hard right, then Marquez covered up and stepped back, and then the referee (i forget his name already) stepped in and stopped it.

I'm not really complaining though (it was still a great fight and probably FOTY to this point), I just think the stoppage came at an odd time and the ref probably should have given marquez more of a chance.
