this was it hands down for me. Nothing else compares, the skill level, the desire to punish each other, the drama and back in forth action, we didn't have that anywhere else.

I think that right now it has been the best fight of the year. I think Mayorga/Vargas has a good chance of being better though. The only problem with both of the Marquez/Vazquez fights is they can't last past the middle rounds. Knockouts are great, but it would be nice to see them last a few rounds longer. I thought this fight was very competitive, and very entertaining, but I think Mayorga & Vargas can bring all of that to the table too, and they can make it last longer (not to mention they are the bigger names, which would probably serve as the tiebreaker unfortunately).

I also thought it was strange how many people thought Marquez was going to win. I thought he was going to win an extremely close fight, which is what I got from pretty much everyone else I heard from on the subject. It's just strange that in a fight that everyone thought would be very close, they almost all thought Marquez would win.

Finally, I really can't wait for the rubber match. It's been a while since we have had the opportunity for a trilogy that can produce two fights of the year.

I said.. so far.. Which is basically, yes.. but with hope that one of the other big fights we have lined up, does something for me. Wishful thinking, I guess.

I think it could be one of the best trilogies ever, normally in trilogies the first fight is the best, the 2nd fight was entertaining, and the 3rd was good

These two have went past that, the 2nd fight was more brutal then the first

Definitely FOTY and I don't see anything beating it out unless the end of the trilogy is in December (or earlier).

Fight of the Year so far without a doubt. And that 3rd round was probably the round of the year. I thought their first fight was a bit overrated, but this fight was pure greatness...

Does no one think that Vargas-Mayorga can top it? I mean, this fight was sweet, but it only went 6 rounds. If Vargas & Mayorga can do this for longer, they will get the nod, because it went longer and they are the bigger names.
