Marquez vs Vasquez II - FOTY ?

For the six rounds it lasted it was probably FOTY, but at this moment I have to say no because of how short it was. Let me watch it again and I might change my mind. The thing was though it was competitive and back and forth. Whenever one man landed some good shots the other came back with a vengence until the last round when I felt the ref stopped the fight too early, even though Marquez looked in bad shape he should have been giving a few more seconds.

When I really think about it now it probably is FOTY because it was a brawl, but technically good and both fighters fought at a high level. I mean I was impressed with how hard, short and accurate both mens punches were. It was just that Vasquez landed his punch the left hook more often. Excellent fight and can't wait for the third match.

Talkin about the stopage,did any of you guys see when the ref stoped the fight,in the right hand corner,a towel got thrown in ?

Yea i agree that this fight COULD be topped, especially with the amazing END YEAR we have.

I mean, this was NOT a CORRALES_CASTILLO I shoe-in, or an all tiem great fight, but it was just an amazing fight and its so far the FOTY IMO

yea, i THINK (not sure at all) that that was either Vazquez's corner in celebration, or Marquez's corner in disgust of the stoppage.

It was well after the fight had been called though, like a few seconds

This fight lived up to all the hype and then some; it was very competitive up until the knockdown the 6th round and was the type of 'blood 'n guts' fight boxing fans love to watch....

This fight gets my vote for sure...

It's the best I've seen this year. There have been some intriguing matchups this year but no classic bouts... this has to be #1 for me right now
