The big money here is betting for a draw at 16/1.
It's my expectation that the odds will tighten considerably as Hatton fans bet with their hearts. If they mobilize to Vegas in large numbers, I suspect that they will bet Hatton at the casino sportsbooks.
Late money is smart money. I would wait til 'day of' and bet Mayweather heavily after the odds get closer.
You are right. RARELY smart to bet a prohibitive favourite. But remember: nobody ever made money betting on the eventual loser.Last edited by DIOS DOMINICANO; 08-04-2007, 08:22 AM.

You're still not going to win big by betting on the favourite in a prize-fight. Even the best odds recognise that there are only two guys in there and that a win either way is more likely than a draw.
If you wanted to win big then you could pick a round or pick a score or whatever, and that would net you some better odds.
I respect your posts but this grappler-biko wiener comes across like a thirteen year-old counterstrike player.

The smart way to bet on this fight would be to bet a relatively small amount on Hatton now, while he is a distant second favourite and then bet a larger amount on Floyd as the odds tighten up. You wouldnt win much, but you'd be virtually guaranteed some kind of repayment.

I'll do a points bet on boxingscene on Hatton winning but real money is too risky for either fighter.

Depends on the ODDS. If he's a huge underdog, I'll put.. for example.. 50 on each fighter. I'll lose a little money on Mayweather if he wins (counting the money I lost on Hatton) but.. if Hatton wins, I'll be up (including the money on Mayweather) If the odds don't favor that sort of bet.. I'll just put down enough to win a huge ammount of money on Mayweather. I don't see Hatton, in my opinion, winning this fight.
