I have never fully trusted Dave Paris since I watched him judge Verno Phillips v Gianfranco Rosi in Liverpool about 10 years ago.

It was a pickup fight dependent on which style you preferred and one judge had it even, one judge had Phillips winning by a couple but Paris had Phillips by 8 or 9 which was just ridiculous!

As a judge I do not rate him one bit!

I know Derry Matthews Dave, I don't recall anything about Paris though?

Refresh my memory, he refereed the Foster fight?

Also Matthews is doing OK, he's picked up the WBU belt after 17 or 18 so I must of missed something? Agreed he'll never be a SRL but...to be honest I haven't seen many of his latest fights but knew him personally as an amateur.

mickey vann and dave parris reffed almost all of hattons first 40 pro fights in england. no wonder hatton was allowed to get away with his dirty tactics. Another built up fighter with total control by the refs and judges. HAtton fraud!

It was a premature stoppage, but mitchell was thoroughly out-classed, he scored a knockdown fair and square, but it was all he did in the fight and he was dropped heavily just 10 seconds afterwards.

I see, it just pissed me off that night. so many fouls Mathews surely should have been DQ'd?

ITV hyped Mathews up soo much, but he didn't deliver and the scoring for that fight was ridiculous.
