Floyd was fighting a guy who outweighed him by 4 pounds at weigh-in and by more than 13 on fight night and he still put a whoopin' on that ass.
I didn't see any "whoopin". Does "whoopin'" mean he landed a few potshots but looked like he'd taken the worst of the punishment after the fight?

That's what I mean. Floyd just lands a few legit "Power" shots and somehow all of a sudden he whopped the guys ass. De La Hoya had Floyd hurt during certain parts of the fight. Then he has the ****ing nerve to say that he stood toe to toe with him.... Im sorry but if PBF stood with DLH then he would have gotten ****ing decapitated.

Hatton is a very funny and clever guy, he will make mayweather look ****** at press conferences etc. if he tries his usual trash talking bull****.

            The Truth About Oscar Delahoya.

Guys have to make up their minds.
The thing about Oscar is that he caught lightning in a bottle. In any dicussion about boxing economics, we have to throw Delahoya out as an aberration.

Oscar is just the perfect confluence of alot of factors : backstory (mom dying of cancer), Olympic glory, good looks, speaks English, is also bi-lingual, came up when there were holes at 135-147, proliferation of the PPV system, marketing by HBO, vacuum left by Tyson's departure, clean-cut public persona, solid performances, talent, excellent promotion by Arum, good management, lack of injuries, availability of recognizable-but-beatable-opponents, etc.

But if you dig deep, Oscar's performances have generally NOT justified big PPV nums. Delahoya doesn't have a dominant win over a top opponent. But he was fornunate to get "names" like Whitaker, Chavez and camacho on his resume because he was fortunate with timing.

Trinidad - did Oscar run more or less than PBF (for example) has in ANY fight? Oscar did ZERO fighting over the final four rounds.

Whitaker - many people feel that Oscar lost this fight to an aging, above-weight former champ.

Shane 1, 2 - Mildly entertaining fights, But not on par with Gatt-Ward or Barrera-Morales. Oscar lost both, although the second is controversial

Sturm - Oscar was badly out of shape, and the general consensus is that he lost the fight.

Hopkins - In a typically tough-to-watch Hopkins fight, Oscar got KO'd. Some people feel that he quit.

Quartey- I credit this as Oscar's best performance/win. He fought strong in the 12th round. Some people feltthat he lost this fight, also.

Mayweather - ODLH was up against a man two divisions smaller than him. This small guy insulted, goaded, and berated Oscar in the buildup. Despite Delahoya promising to impose his size advantage and to make it a rough, dirty fight, he was unable to hurt the smaller man. He faded down the stretch and lost a close-but-clear decision.

Oscar is that big brand that people buy , not because it's better, but because it is what they know. He is a miracle of marketing. He is Tide or Kleenex. Oscar is McDonald's. Even though Wendy's has the better burger.

How many athletic teams or sports figures can lose every major event, and still retain their marketability? On the field, ODLH is the Buffalo Bills. On Madison Avenue, he is the Dallas Cowboys.

THE FACT THAT DELAHOYA-MAYORGA SOLD WHAT ALL THREE BARRERA-MORALES FIGHTS SOLD (COMBINED!!) TELLS YOU ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW.

              That is pure fantasy.

Mayweather made more money in his career than Hatton PRE-OSCAR. Mayweather was getting $3MM paydays against guys like Bruseles and NDou.

He got 6 and 10 mil, respectively, for Judah and Baldomir.

              Just the facts.

                Please stop.

Ricky Hatton is easily a top ten P4P fighter any way you slice it.
It's hard for me to give him alot of credit for that. It was plain to see as soon as that fight started that Castillo was a slow shot fighter that had no business in the ring with Hatton.

Might not have been a whoopin but he did buckle Oscars knee's twice when Oscar the bigger man didn't even hurt Floyd.
