He likes chinese food he just said in an interview but didnt mention fish and chips. Maybe he has gone off fish and chips suppers now.
Its funny how Hatton is supposed to have a good engine with such a poor diet. If he laid of the bad stuff his fitness would be out of this world wouldnt it.

        In his lightweight years also?

On topic: he better not try it this time; in fact he better not weigh over 155lbs right now

            He's not 180lbs - he is about 175lbs.

Also - this doesn't matter. Hatton has a longer training camp than most others. If the fight is on Dec 8th that is about 16 weeks away. He is getting into the gym round about now and keeping his body ticking over and he will NOT weigh 180 with 12 weeks of his training camp to go.

He knows this is a big fight and he knows he will need to get the weight off correctly. It hasn't harmed him so far - also, the fact that he isn't spending as much time out of the ring as he has done in the past indicates that he will be in good shape again.

People keep saying it will affect him - well it hasn't so far. If you think it has affected him then i'd like to know how you came to that conclusion.

                What does it matter?

He trains like a beast and is one of the fittest boxers, if not THE fittest in the world. It doesn't matter what he does OUTSIDE of training time. His way of living and training has worked for him so far - why should he change it just because some silly American's keep saying it's going to affect him (everybody says it when Hatton fights and it's getting on my ****).

Dropping close to 40lbs in a couple of months isn't good for your health. As long as he performs in the ring that's all that matters. However, staying in shape would be a benefit rather than a hindrance, don't you think?

Not necessarily - it can be a mental issue. Hatton needs to get out of shape to get into shape to some extent. It won't be close to 40lbs anyway. More like 35lbs for a 147 fight. He will be losing about 2lbs per week since he is getting into the gym round about now. That's not bad at all.

It is also well documented that Hatton doesn't need to boil down to 140 light other fighters - he even eats small meals on the day of a weigh-in.

So far he hasn't fought Floyd Mayweather. Hatton is a great fighter and has gotten away with murder as far as letting his body go. It's going to kill him soon, and I hope it's not in this fight, which is hard enough even if both guys train equally. Bet your ass Floyd is training hard today, Ricky better get in the gym immediately as well, no holiday no football games and sure as hell no pub
