whose fault is it that hatton is allowed to fight the way he does? cuz if the guy is allowed to do it and make millions then why the **** wouldnt he fool.Comment

Are you kidding me?? Hatton is overrated, PBF will walk through him with ease. Gatti, Baldomir etc. all over again. I'll bet you your life how's that. If I win, I put you to rest, if Hatton knocks out Floyd with a low blow and they still give him the W, I'll let you breathe
someone that actually understands... thank god. i actually cant believe how many people think hatton will win. it is honestly mind boggling. trash talking aside, it is ridiculous of a thought to think hatton can come close to winning by KO, decision, whatever. this fight will be easy as butter for floyd. and i gotta listen to these same threads for the next 5 months. after mayweather beats floyd, i'm wondering, who is next in line that u guys are gonna say he shoulda fought instead. better get ready now fellaz....Comment

Maybe Hatton ends up pocketing $16M for this fight, but that's not his purse, I'll guarantee it. He'll probably make $7-8M on the fight and the rest is probably from PPV cuts, TV rights, and sponsors,Comment

Horseman you're being slow - if you want to just take "purse money", then you really mean money only generated by US networks and the gate. Don't ignore the rest of the world.
I have no idea what the actual purse for Hatton-Castillo was, and unless I see documented evidence from a syndicated press source I'm not going to believe anyone. It's just like the "Hatton refused Mayweather 3 times" BS, when actually the only evidence is that Ray hatton claimed ricky wanted a few fights in the US first. I've asked on countless occasions for more evidence from the ****ers on here and not once have they obliged.Comment

So a purse does not include any money from tv networks? It is just made up from the gate and venue subsidy?? I'd like to know what Mayweather delahoya made in a purse then, or any number fo other fights.Comment

actually its reported that Ray hatton was flown out to the winky/hpkins fight with his lawyer..and they wouldnt accpet PBF's demands/offer...s they went back to the UK..n over the phone between them they negotiated the deal..s PBF didnt exactly get it the way he wantedlol your ******ed if you think he's really gettting that much. Floyd and his camp always call the shots except againts dlh. floyd's camp will pretty much decide how much they are willing to give up and they will tell him take it or leave it and hatton has no choice but to take it if he really wants this fight.Comment

From the Nevada State Athletic Commission's website:
NRS 467.0105 “Purse” defined. “Purse” means the financial guarantee or any other remuneration for which contestants are participating in a contest or exhibition and includes the contestant’s share of any payment received for radio broadcasting, television or motion picture rights.
A boxers purse consists only of what the promoter guarantees. The promoter can only guarantee from the money he's already received to make the fight. There are always upsides to PPVs in big-name fights (that means that if there are more than x number of buys, the fighters get a cut), but the upsides are not part of the guaranteed purse. Additionally, fighters can make money from sponsors for wearing their gear/clothing, or by promoting their products during the fight build up. Those monies are not part of the purse, either.
The purse only consists of the guaranteed money to be paid to a fighter. That's the obligation the promoter of name has to the fighter. That's it, that's a purse. If you look at a fighter's contract, there will be a number on it (a guaranteed number), that's the purse.Comment
