Opinion on Sultan Ibragimov?

I think he's an average HW who is not bad in any department bit also is nothing special in any department. I believe that Chagaev will win pretty easily by UD. Ibragimov could not do much against Austin and barely won over Briggs who, in my opinion, would lose to just about anybody from top 20.What you guys think about him?
He is one of my favorite fighters right now so i am curious to see how others feel about him.
I think he has skill and a better chance then most to beat Klitschko but would fairly be the underdog.
The reason i ask is he is the reason because of my issues with you know which site and why exactly i left.

I think it has to do more with increased level of opposition than Mayweather.Yeah I know that but I'm talking about how aggressive and straight forward Sultan was before when he tko'd everyone and now he is scraping by with draws and just ok wins. If he wants to have any chance against Wladdy he has to bumrush him ala Corrie Sanders or pre Mayweather Iggy. I think he will handle Chagaev pretty easily if he is aggressive.
Good to talk to you Easy, I haven't been on as much lately...Comment

I think that he is third best champ(after Klitschko and Chagaev res.) and has decent skills and well, decent everything.
He is also smart enough to understand it.
Chagaev, imo, would beat him. But I am a little biased here, I really like Chagaev.Comment

No, Sultan has an excellent amateur background too. Don't forget, he won the Silver Medal in the 2000 Summer Olympics. Sultan is probably about the 4th or 5th best heavyweight in the world right now. That means he's far above average, when you consider there's over 1000 active pro heavyweight boxers.
Ibragimov vs. Chagaev is a fairly even match and should be an excellent fight. I think Ruslan may have a slight edge in speed and power, and will probably win a close decision. But I'll be rooting for Sultan.Last edited by Steelhammer86; 07-29-2007, 08:04 PM.Comment

Oh and it should be mentioned that according to many the result in teh final was very controversial. There were those who felt Sultan should have gotten the Gold, and this is not something i heard from one or two fans but from a few respected sources. No, Sultan has an excellent amateur background too. It was something with either cuts or KD's where SI should have gotten the stoppage or should have via points. Forget the details but it makes me very curious to check out that fight.
ALSO SI and RC have a history.
SI lost to him in Krasnoyarsk in 98
then outdid him in the olympics (as i said arguably winning gold)
then lost to Solis in 2001 while i beieve Ruslan beat him then.
These two have a history and the fight should be ****in awesome.Comment

He is great and gifted, and he is probably the most exciting fighter in HW division. I wish him well, and hope he does great things with his talents.Comment

I rarely disagree with you, but have to disagree on this one.

I actually like both of them a lot, but Sultan looks to me a lot more agressive and more interesting (judging by his wins over Whitakker and Briggs, not Austin though).Comment
