Agree, I've always been high on him and considered him an elite fighter but a win over a better marquee name should put him in the top 10.

The guy is good, he has knockout power, he can box, he can take a punch, and in my book he's only lost 1 time and that was the first Mayorga fight.

I did too but it didn't help Vernon's cause to be wobbling around the ring every time Mayorga hit his gloves. Judges think you're being dominated when you do that ****. Forrest just has bad balance.

I would love to see Winky Wright call out Vernon Forrest and them two battle it out. This makes all the sense in the world for both of these guys.

They both defeated Shane Mosley twice and both of them have been around for ages. Winky wants to fight another guy from his era and this is the guy.
It's not like Delahoya is gonna take a fight with winky.

If winky can't make 154, forrest should move up to 160. I'd like to see who wins this one.

The winner of that could fight the winner of Vargas/mayorga-two guys who have beaten forrest and Wright.

Shoulder issues. I'm convinced of that.

That's why he looked terrible against Elco Garcia, luckily the ref gave him a break and stopped that fight prematurely. I buy into the idea that he wasn't throwing punches correctly, and that led to the deterioration. You could see him pull his punches off his back foot, not throwing with conviction.

Of course everyone needs to keep last nights fight into perspective because it was Carlos Baldomir he was fighting, but his shoulder looked repaired. So I think he's good to go against anyone.
