Hatton's only said he wasn't actually ready for fighting Floyd back in 2004. The more recent reluctance was all about external factors to the fight itself.

I agree, all of this talk is boring me silly now TBH. It's been dragging on for 2 years and there really isn't anything to discuss that hasn't been done to death already. I wish they'd have kept the fight a secret until a month before the fight so we didn't have to put up with all of this **** until December.

What's great about this entire process is that they have to FIGHT. There's been alot of talk from the UK contingent, and most recently, from Hatton's trainer. I understand that they need to build up Ricky's confidence. Just a few fights ago, he didn't feel that he was ready. But now they have to fight.

We can go 'round and 'round. I'm willing to wait to see what happens inside the ring...aren't you?

Question: If they weren't advantages for Ricky in all of his Manchester fights, why would they be disadvantages for him in a Las Vegas fight?

Most of the guys he fought in England were either used to travelling for fights, were European or were British.

Hatton's just doing what he feels he needs to so that nothing's left to chance in his preparation for probably the toughest fight of his career. Can't say I really blame him.

Ray Hatton said that Ricky needed "to get used to time zones and fighting in front of an American crowd".

Tszyu fought at 2am and in front of the most rabid British crowd imaginable.

          I'm just sayin'...

Tszyu was used to fighting all over the world and fighting at 2am was just as alien to Hatton as it was to KT.

I was in that crowd and it was pretty rowdy. Everyone was pretty hammered by that time so it was to be expected, I guess.

I guess the hostile crowd thing won't be an issue anywhere given the way that Ricky's following is prepared to travel.

Hatton said they weren't ready for Mayweather.

              Care to accept that challenge?
Ive just logged back onto the forum, been at work.

Listen mate, I cant be bothered with you. Who cares what sort of fabricated proof you have about Ricky Hatton. Even if it is true, who ****in cares? So what, Ricky decided to fight Kosta Tszyu before he was ready to fight Mayweather? Big drama. The fact is, he's ready for mayweather now. So the fight is being made, thats how it works, no?
You are just trying to cause arguments, to be honest I lost the will to talk to you when you responded with the classic "limey" insult.

"Care to accept the challenge" - stop being a wanker, seriously. Everyone on here is allowed an opinion.

                    hatton over rated

every time some one talks about ricky hatton they are considered british haters but i don't hear people trashing calzaghe or khan. ricky hatton is just an over rated fighter who always claims to be the most exciting boxer but no one outside of his country wants to watch him fight.if ricky hatton would beat paulie i would give him some respect but instead he's about to fight mayweather who is about 20 times better than ricky hatton and is going to beat ricky up really bad.everyone talks about floyd doesnt have power but everyone he fought at 140 he knocked out except for corley
