Oscar is former boxer who achieved everything from nothing...
He helps younger guys, other fighters because he knows how hard it was for him.
In world of boxing, you can't be totally positive, there are always some not so good moves, but Oscar is curently one of most positive figures in boxing IMO.

As a Mexican-American, I have a lot to look up to Oscar for, in certain ways. I say that without shame because I realize what he has accomplished. As far as this fight, or signing Hatton. That's just good business. In American, the goal of any business is to become as successful as you can, without forming or contribution to a monopoly. And he is nowhere near that status. So, it's all good to me.

          Per Dan Rafael, ESPN.com:

The fight will be promoted by De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions and Mayweather's newly formed Mayweather Promotions, according to Ellerbe. Golden Boy promoted the Mayweather-De La Hoya fight and, according to several sources, is on the verge of signing Hatton, whose contract with co-promoters Artie Pelullo and Dennis Hobson expired after the Castillo fight.

De La Hoya and Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer met with Ray Hatton and attorney Gareth Williams last weekend in Las Vegas. They flew them in for the Bernard Hopkins-Winky Wright fight and for the meeting.

Although Mayweather had some problems with Golden Boy during the buildup to the May 5 fight, Ellerbe said it wasn't an issue. He wouldn't confirm that Golden Boy holds one option on Mayweather stemming from the deal for him to fight De La Hoya.

"We're very comfortable working with Golden Boy Promotions for the Dec. 8 fight," Ellerbe said. "We just worked with them on the biggest event in the history of the sport and we're excited to be working with them again."

So GBP will promote and apparently they are about to sign Hatton. It's good to have leverage...can't you see DLH telling the Hattons, "sign with me, and I'll get you Floyd."

If they couldn't get Floyd on board, he was going to fight Hatton in exchange for Hatton signing with GBP, apparently. DLH really wanted Hatton under contract...

Correction, De La ****** serves himself, not boxing. Have you seen his fights lately, hell, forget recent years. How about that "running scared" he pulled on all of us against Tito. Surely, one of the highest grossing fights of the 90's and DLH pulls that cheap crap on all of us.

How hard is it to put on a big smile and say 2 sentences per post-fight interview. If DLH didn't have the matinee idol looks, would the casual boxing fans really give a rat's @ss. Ali, is what it's all about. He had charisma, smart as hell, and didn't give a **** all at the same time. Ali paid his dues, he gave up what would've been and probably an even more amazing career if he wasn't exiled from boxing, all because he stood for what he believed in.

Outside of being good looking, having a feminine voice, and mutter out a few words, what else is he really? He wasn't even considered the best of his generation! Compared to the Tyson's of the world, he's God image wise. Then again, alot of joe schmoes would look like angels compared to Tyson's rap sheet. Again, smiling in front of the camera and saying as little as possible, is not all that hard. being a pro-fighter, day in, day out working your b*tt off is hard.

Sure, DLH has managed his earnings very well, and obviously have surrounded himself with the right people(props to him). But he's not a revolutionary thinker , which is what boxing needs. Not someone who smiles, I'd smile all day if I got laid as much as DLH(LOL). then again, basing it on those recent internet pics, I'm not too sure who or what gender he's ****ing(lol).

I guess Maywetaher ends up being Oscar's ***** after all. Oscar is smart, and now Floyd is putting money in his pocket. if this was Floyd, his fans would be saying how smart Floyd was. Oscar ends up getting over on Floy. SMART!!!
