This is very intreguing news for hw fans(or at least I think) and IMO is a great way by the IBF to produce a worthly challenger for a world title shot. As for Povetkin, this kid is really moving quick in his ascent to the top and wish him all the luck when he fights the 'slick' Chris Byrd. Overall, this is great news for the hw division...Comment

Kudos to Team Povetkin, Byrd, Brock and Chambers for stepping up and big kudos to the IBF for making this happen. The alphabets are bad for boxing, no doubt, but occasionally (even if unintentionally) they can do something good.Comment

Exactly, this is how mandatories should be choosen; by 'forcing' the top contenders in the division to fight one another in not just one, but two eliminator bouts like in this case. Hopefully, a network can put both the Chambers-Brock, Povetkin-Byrd fights on the same card.Comment

This news has made my day. I've been thinking I'd like to see Povetkin against Byrd. A tournament like this is just what the heavyweight division needs.Comment
