Hmmm, interesting but this could lead him into a potential trouble.

I think Povetkin and Chambers will prevail Chambers might give Povetkin some trouble with his movement. Does anyone know if the Networks are interested?

This is very intreguing news for hw fans(or at least I think) and IMO is a great way by the IBF to produce a worthly challenger for a world title shot. As for Povetkin, this kid is really moving quick in his ascent to the top and wish him all the luck when he fights the 'slick' Chris Byrd. Overall, this is great news for the hw division...

i like both these fight’s should be interesting, at least some of the top contenders will now be fighting each other. I think this is the way more mandatory fights should be arranged

Agreed, this is great news and the IBF should be commended for going this route instead of the rumored Byrd-Brock eliminator that would have made Wlad face a guy he's already destroyed in the recent past. Povetkin is considered by many to be the best young HW prospect out there (taking Peter out of the equation, anyway, since he's getting his title shot), and the IBF is setting him up with two nice, experience-building fights that would make him a worthy challenger to Wlad or whomever holds the IBF title by the time this process is finished.

Kudos to Team Povetkin, Byrd, Brock and Chambers for stepping up and big kudos to the IBF for making this happen. The alphabets are bad for boxing, no doubt, but occasionally (even if unintentionally) they can do something good.

Exactly, this is how mandatories should be choosen; by 'forcing' the top contenders in the division to fight one another in not just one, but two eliminator bouts like in this case. Hopefully, a network can put both the Chambers-Brock, Povetkin-Byrd fights on the same card.

This news has made my day. I've been thinking I'd like to see Povetkin against Byrd. A tournament like this is just what the heavyweight division needs.

Also agreed, this sounds like a perfect, affordable Showtime Championship Boxing card to me. Maybe the November 3rd or December 1st date? Let's hope...

The sooner the better; although I haven't heard anything as of yet.
