Come out of the closet. Admit your boy is, and always was, a scrub.

    GATTI FOR THE HALL!!!!

Nah, idk. I still think its an interesting argument. A guy like deserves to be immortilized somehow, i guess all his FOTY awards are enough.

There was a couple of poles and threads about this a couple of weeks ago.
And it was pretty much split on the Hall vote for Gatti.
His fans of course, believe he should be in...

I believe the hall should be reserved for the best of the best...excellence only.
Gatti was a good fighter with a great heart...but he was not an all time great.

But,he was along way from being a scrub....

The bigger question here is: Is the HOF reserved for just world class fighters or should fighters like Gatti, who provided some great fights and generated alot of excitement for boxing fans, also be admitted?....

Not a scrub. Just an extremely exciting fighter who was at times pretty good, but very far from great.

Gatti can't even SWEEP the Hall.

When a guy does something crazy or interesting or amazing in baseball, they give him a spot for that achievement, but not necessarily induct him into the Hall.

For example, Don Larsen was an average pitcher (like Gatti is an average fighter). But Larsen pitched a perfect game in the World Series. That deserves recognition.

So, you can have a list of FOTY's in the IBHOF that has Gatti's name on it three (?) times.

            But no induction for Arturo.

I'll put up an argument with anyone on any day of the week that Gatti should be in the Hall.

My thing is, name any other sport where a guy would get put in the hall for being popular and exciting. You cant.

                Boxing shouldn't be any different.

                  When was he "pretty good"?

In my opinion, Gatti lost to all of the "pretty good" guys that he faced.

                    Excellent point. Gary Carter, notwithstanding.

Even the "marginal" guys in the Hall (umm, Terrible Terry Norris) are substantially better than Arturo.
