Great news if indeed true. The Golden Boy-Top Rank treaty reaps some serious dividends here!
Can people stop ripping Mosley and stop calling him a coward for not fighting Floyd? This is a great fight, especially if it is at MSG. The winner has can legitimately call out Floyd for a 147 undisputed title bout. Good deal.Comment

Mosley is not in his prime anymore. He looked good against Vargas- who was a shell of his former self...a truly destroyed fighter...and then racked up a decent win against Collazo - but let's not forget his age. While I favor him due to his experience it has more to do with my lingering doubts about Cotto's versatility than pure faith in Mosley.
The main thing I'd like to point out is that Shane really does step up - he went after Oscar in his prime, gave Winky Wright a shot, etc. In fact there were some doubting him before the Vargas fights even. Cotto should get credit for giving a grizzled veteran with speed and power a shot, too.
Whoever wins should get signifigant respect.Comment

Neither was Zab judah or Malignaggi until they fought Cotto.I dislike any fight with Shane Mosley. He has not been entertaining at all since he lost to Vernon the Viper. But he could beat Cotto, as far as he ha slid he still has a right hand to hurt Cotto badly. Plus, Mosley has the chin and focus (unlike Judah) to really get in there and finish the job if he does hurt Cotto.
Cotto himself is such a good recoverer and hard to get off his gameplan that it takes a special kind of fighter to beat him. It's hard to say if Mosley is STILL special enough to beat Cotto.
I am willing to say that Mosley is good enough to do it. As always though, I have a tough time picking against Cotto.
This is a fight, style matchup wise, that HAS to be entertaining unless Cotto gets stopped early...
which always seems to be a possibility considering his size/chin... and the fact that Mosley is a natural welterweight coming down in weight...
And why people are so quickly picking COTTO by Knockout surprises me. Mosley has only been down against one fighter, and has only been hurt against one fighter...Comment
