Calzaghe: "Hopkins - Not Much Competition"

Calzaghe is just trying to get people to see his point of view, so he can have a better chance finagling a good deal for himself, if they do actually fight. Hopkins won, and did it without question. Ths way, in Joe's mind, if he barely gets by, they are on an even playing field. But he knows, he just hates the idea of not getting HIGHLY supported in a foreign country, fighting a guy who stands a chance. I like Joe, I just think he does fear that aspect of it.

what dont joe realized is, ya he doesnt have to come to the states, he can keep making money, but he'll never have any respect for beating bums in Europe no matter how good his record is. Thats the thing i can respect about Hatton, he knows the top competition is over here, and though he may not be at the top, he sure plans on giving it a try because like any competitor, deep down you should want to know how good you really are, and you find that out by fighting the best.

Calzaghe is full of **** once again, America is the meca of boxing, so the American elite fighters do not need to to fight overseas, you earn respect when you fight in America, why do all the great Latin fighters fight in America, why Pac fights in America, Pac can sell a large stadium in one day in the Philippines if he wants to, Pac raely fights in the Philippines.

This is just another excuse for Calzaghe not to fight in America, 43 career fights and still no fights in America, pathetic!

Also lets not forget Calzaghe didn't sellout any stadiums in UK before the Lacy fight, he turned into a god after the Lacy fight and had 35000 British fans paying to see him against Manfredo, only in Europe!

What you on about? Joe beats Kessler then he becomes the money man...Hopkins should come over here and fight, Taylor also. I think Joe knows he can earn good doe in the U.S but he is a stubburn man, These guys wont the fight with Joe come and get!! *** the Yankie Stadium.. Hopkins is a great fighter but at 42 giving it the all man be real, He should just keep his Legacy intact.

I think Calzaghes comments have obviously got to you, because what he has said is true. Calzaghe makes alot more money than Hopkins does, Hopkins needs Calzaghe in order to make some proper money he made $3million for fighting Winky yet Calzaghe is earning £5million.
