Funniest thing i ever saw in boxing (or the most ****** thing) was when Roy and B hop had an agruement live on ppv B Hop had just won his fight and Roy was just about to fight glen Kelly!!! They got into it over how much money they should get!!! They dont like each other at all!!! I cant see them coming to an agreement!!!

Roy done his famous hands behind his back in that fight!!!

      not again...

The first time these two argued about this it was 60-40 which was pretty fair since rjj was the champ defending his title and had already beaten b-hop once, the second time rjj said 60-40 for the winner and b-hop wanted none of that, and now it will be the same they won't agree and the fight will not happen. IF it did i would say b-hop has way more left than rjj does, but rjj still has good hand speed compared to b-hop and would normally have an easier time with the style b-hop fights, rjj seems reluctant to throw the first punch and b-hop still isn't washed up and can fight with the best of them. Still in their primes rjj beats b-hop 10 out of 10 times, and i am still a bigger rjj fan than a b-hop fan so i would still like to see rjj win his UD which is the obvious outcome IF he were to win.

He called Jones out in April 1996, then again throughout 2001.

I was off a bit but BH won me some vmoney anyway. Thought it was closer than the judges called it 115-113.

THe holding really was terrible and the ref didn't do his job so well.

there should have been some points depucted early and perhaps we would have saw a different fight.

that's not true. it was at one point, but that was during a 2-yr or so stretch.

They were supposed to rematch in 1996, but it was actually HBO who "priced themselves out" by demanding Hopkins give up his IBF middleweight title, whereas Hopkins simply just wanted to move up for one fight and take it from there.

The attempt in 2000 was killed by Roy, over money. Roy worried not about the split in the rematch, but amazingly enough that he didn't want Hopkins demanding more than a 50-50 split should Bernard beat him in the rematch!

Both sides did everything they could to kill the 2002 attempt. Yeah, Roy talked all that **** with "60/40 I kicks yo ass", but the real conversation behind the scenes still had Roy closer to 80/20. Bernard, coming off the Tito win, believed he was entitled to a split closer to 50/50 - this even failing to draw a decent crowd an hour from his hometown, and then even worse a year later in Philly itself.

They actually agreed on money in early 2004, but it was HBO who killed the deal in taking upwards of $8 million off of the table, capping the fight at $10 million, almost knowing that neither fighter would accept "that little."

Jones vs. Hopkins 2 won't happen more b/c of B-Hop I think. Jones was willing to fight Calzaghe at 40-60 split in Wales and Calzaghe turned that down! Jones isn't ducking anybody. I won't say Hopkins is ducking either, but Hopkins has proven to be a negotiating idiot in the past. Remember when he was going to get 1.7 mil to fight Joppy, turned it down, then it went to purse bid and he ended up fighting him for like 100k? lmao.

then he lost $50k in a ****** bet he made that Joppy couldn't last the 12 round distance, as if he's a ko artist.

yeah, obviously the article was inaccurate that 2005 was the closest they came to fighting. The Hopkins-Jones 2 fight was supposed to be July 21 (last night), which was near signed in 2006.

this fight will never get made, and after seeing the horrible robbery of Wright, I'm fine if it isn't made. Jones has even less backing than Wright, so Goldenboy might not even need to pay off judges to rob Roy. It'd be Seoul all over again.

Still living in a forum I see, unable to move on.

Yeah, you "owned" me bad. It's like you totally didn't get the memo called the Emancipation Proclamation, that's how bad you owned me. Utter slavery.
