i thought it was a fair and reasonable summation regardless.

here is a quick tip for you.. in life.. if you continue to open your mouth when you have nothing to say.. sooner or later someone is going to shove a **** in it and give your existence some purpose.

somehow i dont think you'd find this enjoyable so how bout you practice remaining quiet when you don't have a clue.

i have to admit you did give me cause to laugh when you questioned my education.

I am. I'm also saying Lacy, Reid, Woodhall, Mitchell, Brewer, and Sheika were all better. You could make a decent case for Starie and Veit.

I just don't rate Mundine. He seems to have some skills but every time he has fought anyone resembling world class he's been woefully caught short.

from the names you mention maybe only Reid could win Mundine

yeah that's reasonable. he lost to ottke and kessler and siaca. siaca for ****s sake. but at the same time.. im talking about the mundine of right now..

his two big recent wins. 1 over danny green.

danny is far from elite. but lets look at it. his record.. 24 wins with 22 kos and 3 losses.

his losses are a disqualification loss to beyer.. in a fight that he was winning easily

and a majority points decision loss to beyer..

pretty close results to a guy who might not have been brilliant but was a solid champion.

his other loss.. is a 11 rounds to 1 defeat by mundine

his other big win of late was against sam soliman..

in sams last 22 fights he's lost twice.

once in a close decision to winky wright.. a decent boxer

            and the next time

he was knocked down 4 times by mundine who eventually knocked him out in the 9th without dropping a round.

this is the mundine of new.. the one that i am talking about.

not the guy who had been boxing for a couple of years with 10 local fights before he fought a world champ in ottke.

not even the guy who lost to kessler

mundine has improved and evolved into a different fighter as much as most people would like to deny it.

people laugh off mundine.. they say ottke knocked him out. two fights before that mundine fought sam soliman who at the time had just changed over from kickboxing and was a 12-6 journeyman. mundine won a VERY close decision.

over the next 5 years or so soliman improved out of sight. winning 20 of his next 21 fights.. only losing a close decision to a guy rated p4p number 2 in the world at the time. winky wright.

in this same time mundine improved so much that he not only could beat this greatly improved soliman.. but he knocked him out in 9 rounds. in around 40 fights no one else has ever even made soliman touch canvas.

it really frustrates me when people compare the mundine that lost to ottke to the fighter he is now.

I'm staggered anyone bar a blinkered aussie fanboy could think that. Just because the SMW division now only has 2-3 world class operators at best it doesn't make the next best anything more than a local level fighter.

If it's any consolation I don't rate Green or Beyer either. Soliman was a good win, and props to him for it.

If you're right then great. The SMW division is crying out for some new blood especially as Calzaghe will walk after unifying. If he's as good as you're saying I have no reason to suspect he couldn't cope with anyone else in that division,

the thing that annoys me the most is im not even a big mundine fan. and on esb you'll see me being quite critical of mundine.

the only reason i defend him like this on here is because you guys obviously dont know what you're talking about.

how did a local level fighter put soliman down 4 times and knock him out without dropping a round when winky wright beat him in a close decision?

how did he shutout green when greens worst previous result was a majority decision loss to beyer?

how come people say he has the worst chin in boxing when he stood with kessler echols and green.

here is the bottom line.. i dont even want anyone to say. yeah mundine is great or even good. i just wish people would acknowledge they didnt know anything about him instead of saying.. he lost to ottke. he lost to kessler.

You've obviously had some strange experiences in your life. Your insecurity is also amusing. Thanks for the laugh son.

id say the SMW division is quite strong. just because there arent any americans doesnt mean it doesnt have some depth

                      calzaghe
                      kessler
                      bute
                      froch
                      inkin
                      mundine
                      lacy

                      .. reasonable imo
