I say Cotto knocks this guy out easy...........did u see the p williams vs Marg fight...P williams gets hit to much and with a puncher like Cotto he would get knocked out i mean cotto gets hit a lot to but i dont see a lot of power n p williams punches. He hit marg wit some stuff but at the end of the fight did u see marg's face.

and usally southpaw make other fight looks bad no matter what the size is, if you seen Roy Jones vs a PR guy named DeVella i think. Roy looked bad and he turned southpaw from time to time so he could see the angle.
i think cotto can switch stance thruout the fight at certain times and get off some decent shots from different angles. cotto is naturally southpaw so i think he knows the spacing and footwork and angles of southpaws very well.

he could switch to comes inside butt it wont work all the time because Williams is a tall person so even for a southpaw vs southpaw there will still be spacing.

What Cotto needs is extra speed

Based on the last performance of both fighters, i would pick cotto. Williams must still improve if he wants to beat cotto. On the fight with margarito he was very good, but not great. Margarito got used to williams speed and reach after round 5 and after that the fight started to even. i dont think cotto would wait that long imo.

Anyway this would be a great fight, and it can go either way, but i think cotto would have better odds :P

Margarito had more chances on the inside than many realize. The thing was that in the first 6 rounds when they were in close Williams was landing first and Margarito's shots were landing second.

Margarito also didn't really attempt to punch out of the clinches even though many times both his hands were free. These were wasted momments by Margarito.

Cotto has a tighter punching arc in his hooks and has much better handspeed than Margarito. Cotto is also a more polished stalker than Margarito and has better footwork.

During attempted clinches you will also see Cotto much more active than Margarito.

HOWEVER, what worries me but others have ignored is Williams POWER. Yeah, I said it POWER. Just because Margarito can walk through PW's punches as if he was in a pillow fight doesn't mean other fighters can.

Remember Margarito ate some hard leather from Cintron and Clottey and reacted as if his teenage daughter punched him. Paul does have power, how much is hard to say but you can't use Margarito's chin as a measure for a guys power otherwise no one has power in the WW's.

If Paul is gonna stop Cotto from charging foward, he better some power on those punches. Slapping and arm punches won't be enough. Tough fight to call at this point, perhaps I need to see a couple of more Williams fights.

I'd have to call this fight a very close one, given Cotto's style. He fights lower than Margarito, who just stood straight up in Margarito's range and ate combos all night. Cotto would be lower and make Williams come down to him, where he would be able to land some heavy artillery with the left hook. Williams throws and throws and has much quicker feet than Cotto, so it could perceivably go in the other direction.

If a gun was put to my head, I'd go with Cotto. But you never know....
I think cotto could actually beat williams as everyone saw that tony was hurting williams with body shots imagine how slow paul would get when cotto goes to the body.

I know this is off topic but your well lucky to meat andre berto he's my fav fighter.

This is a tough fight to call which is why I wont make a prediction but let me just say a couple of things.

                    1) Cotto would not be able to stop Paul Williams.

                    2) Cotto and Arum are not going to fight this giant any time soon and neither is any other top welterweight outside of a return bout with Antonio Maragarito.

If Toney was the most avoided Welterweight in the world then PWill will unjdoubtedly take his place.

Who the **** wants to fight a welterweight who stands 6'2, has an extremely good chin and throws 211 punches per round?

Cotto will stop Williams anyday of the week. Miguel would be able to come in better than Margarito did and attack the body. Kill the body & the head will follow. Another thing is that Margarito was letting Paul grab him anytime he wanted...That will not happen with Cotto. The key to beating Paul is straight shots which Antonio didn't throw enough of. I guarantee you that if Antonio threw more straights shots with a tad bit more speed it would've been lights out for the Punisher.

After the 6th round or so Margarito was getting to Paul a lot more. at times Paul looked winded and took some shots that clearly bothered him. This would be Cotto's best body attack outting ever seen by him to date.

Cotto by TKO with paul suffering a couple of broken ribs in the process.
