    Cotto-P. Williams?

The HBO crew expounded briefly on prospects of this kind of fight. Both men are undefeated, hold belts at 147, and have been impressive in their last few fights. Should Cotto get by Mosley and Williams beat a guy like Cintron, who would you pick here?

I'd have to call this fight a very close one, given Cotto's style. He fights lower than Margarito, who just stood straight up in Margarito's range and ate combos all night. Cotto would be lower and make Williams come down to him, where he would be able to land some heavy artillery with the left hook. Williams throws and throws and has much quicker feet than Cotto, so it could perceivably go in the other direction.

If a gun was put to my head, I'd go with Cotto. But you never know....

i think that cotto would win against paul williams. IMO, the only guy that can beat cotto at this point is mayweather.

William still didnt reach his highest potential but Cotto is about there.

Williams jab could create alot of space , Cotto will need speed , jab to come inside and once he is inside concentrate on the body and dont go out intel Williams clinchs and the ref seperate them.

The bodypunchs will reduce William workrate, and lower his right hand for jab as well as lossess stamina and easier to KO a person who is tired so the next time Cotto comes around it will be easier every time get does it.

As for William he should jab jab jab and once Cotto tries to come in hit him with big shot like and uppercut and move to the right side, yes near Cotto left hook but for a southpaw a straight right is easier to hit then a left hook. He should put his feet outward of Cotto

I think the fight could go either way, but i think the winner will win decisively u know?

I got Cotto by 9th round corner stoppage, maybe knockout but Williams strikes me as a rediculously tough guy with plenty of heart to spare.

considering how he came out for round 12th agains margarito, he may have what it takes to beat cotto up for a while, but i think Cotto gets to him by the mid rounds and doesnt let up until its over.

If Williams doesnt put hir right hand forward then he is going to lose.

I know that you are not Cotto but the guy your fighting is not Williams too it gives you and idea on how hard to get into him and Cotto has a short left hooks that he need to get close.

If you seen how Tarver normally fight, he usally put his right hand forward and jabs abit as well as put a straight left from a distance. It like he is pressuring someone with his size and if person comes to his range he get hit.

He won against Roy Jones who also have short left hook.

fair enough, you got me there. but again i say, the fight could EASILY go in either direction, but if i had to put money on it, i would pick cotto, but i am a big fan of both. i have liked paul since before he was big, after i saw him beat my trainer by UD.

yeah another thing is that Williams have a better chance of improvment than Cotto does. But Cotto cant use the same trick( switching) as he did against Carlos because Williams will produce alot of space and If cotto does this he need like a one time shot and finish him off as fast as he could.

and usally southpaw make other fight looks bad no matter what the size is, if you seen Roy Jones vs a PR guy named DeVella i think. Roy looked bad and he turned southpaw from time to time so he could see the angle.
