Yes he lost to sturm, but to be fair i dont think de la hoya is good at 160, its not his best weight.

I think most of today top boxers would lose if they have fought PBF and B-Hop when DLH did.

The difference is De La hoya is not afraid to fight anyone and wont pad his record with crap names to get brownie points with the fans,

Kessler is unbeaten and has two belts, DLH has lost 2 out his last 3 fights, who is the better fighter?
Of all-time or today? Because that's where the debate lies. No one considered Eubank still elite in 1997, certainly not when Calzaghe fought him.

yeah, regardless of talent inside the ring, Calzaghe can't help but come off as a d-bag in 99% of interviews he does

Mikkel Kessler. Undefeated, in his prime, and able to go twelve rounds without passing out. Is that enough to beat Calzaghe? I doubt it. he makes a lot of mistakes in there. Calzaghe would be wise to swarm. I never doubted for a moment this fight would happen. Unfortunately, when poor Joe looks back at his resume, he'll wonder how the hell he went through an era of great super middles and light heavy's and the best he could come up with was a faded Eubank and Mikkel Kessler, who may turn out to be great, or turn out to be nothing.

Okay, for me skills wise De La Hoya is in another universe to Kessler and De La Hoya is the better fighter at this moment, we shall have to agree to disagree right now, i a few things to do.

            cool dude.

Until DLH actually beats someone, I can't consider him elite at all. If losing to good opponents makes you elite, Andrew Golata and Oba Carr are stars. But good debate, man. Enjoyed it.

                Why?

Becuase you say so? Who are you? Becuase if you are not an alt then how would you know?

Most of the Brit fans on here are true boxing fans, some of whom dont even follow Calzaghe or Hatton.

Yes we have Brit flamers but so does every country and its relative therefore for every flamer we produce the Yanks produce six so......

Nah, if Joe was American he'd be forced to fight some of the top American fighters around him. Differenct country excuse wouldn't work.

It's not Calzaghe's fault that the super-middleweight division is a wasteland with regards to American talent.
