Roy still has a lot of his handspeed there. Maybe about 80% of it . His timing is a little off right now with his couterpunches in the center of the ring. Majority of the counershots he landed came when he was up against the ropes.

But his legs are not the same,and his ability to sustain attacks is not there right now. Maybe its because of the layoffs.

He looked much stronger though at 175 then he has looked in years

Ray, you know what I thought was most impressive? Roy Jones who has a questionable chin and past his prime battling Hanshaw off the ropes. Roy wasn't afraid to let his hands go Saturday, plus he covered up well. Thats probably what impressed me more than anything.

Good point. I was worried if he would ever get past that fear of getting hit. In the 3rd Tarver fight ,i thought he easily could have won the fight, had he let his hands go more often.

Maybe he did a lot of sparring for this fight ,to try and get used to getting hit again
