Cotto would probably win vs Williams. He is a workhouse of his own and Williams did tire a bit to Margarito's bod work. Cotto is even more intense, or so it looks to me right now. Need to see Cotto vs someone really good who stands a chance. Hmm Oscar or Shane maybe since Mayweather seems or track to fight Hatton.

Not only that but that slap punching I don't think can fend off the top welters. It would be more interesting to see how Williams performs if he puts on some weight though.

Marge was finally exposed as an overrated fighter. He was too slow, hes lucky Mayweather isnt the one to embarass him.

Cotto's chin is better at 147 IMO. I don't think Margarito's telegraphed shots would really catch Cotto.

I thought Margarito fought a good fight down the stretch, he just couldn't get it going early on. I agree that his hands looked slower. He really started to land later on by punching over Williams' half-hearted punches.

I wouldn't mind seeing a rematch between these two. It may end with the same result but Margarito could learn from this defeat...do better next time...

Just too little too late, great fight though. I think the only thing Williams has goin for him at the welterweight division, is his height. He leaves himself open alot and slap boxes without enough power to fend off any of these top 5 in the division.

But yeah, high risk fight for Margarito and he still took it. He shoulda promised a fight with Paul after a fight with Cotto cause now its just up hill for him, even though he had great success against Williams, it wasnt enough to outshine Williams boxing. But it was probably enough to get Margarito a second chance later on to get to the top of the division. Not only that, but maybe now Margarito will realize he has to start fighting after the sound of the first bell, not 5 or 6 rounds into the fight.

              Williams vs Cotto-

I dont think that slap boxing can fend off someone like Cotto, if Margarito can dig body shots, Cotto will turn that body into ground beef. I just dont think Williams is strong enough to fend off Cotto.

              Williams vs Mayweather

I doubt Mayweather would take the fight lol, but if he did I dont think he could put Williams down, but I think he could pop shot Williams body for 12 rounds. But that fight would probably be just as boring as the Baldomir/Mayweather fight. I'd rather see Williams vs Mosley or Cotto.
it's not slap boxing homie...it might look like that cuz he's so tall...i bet one of his "slap boxing" punches is stronger than a lot of other guy's punches...

i agree with ren. the williams haters make me laugh. he demolished sharmba mitchell. as larry merchant mentioned, he throws punches with different velocity at different times. when williams sits on punches he can do serious damage. i find it funny margarito went from the "most feared man in boxing" to "the slowest boxer of all time" in one night. look at what margarito did to cintron. he'd do it again. williams would destroy cotto. cotto is what, 5'6?? he relies on outworking guys, williams would take him to the woodshed. he throws twice as many punches, is way too slick, way too tall, and would stop cotto. cotto would hurt his body?? he'd leave himself wide open to the head and get punished. give me a break.
