Whoever said Paul Williams is Tommy Hearns' clone is on crack. I knew Williams would win from the punch output and that Margarito is slow as hell. Margarito did not impress me with his most feared power and all.
Nobody said Margarito had all this power , it's his work rate that wears you down and body shots. Margarito was doing good work on Pauls body and I thought it was over in the 11th. All credit to Williams for fighting back and hanging in there.
Williams is good but aint no tommy hearns... The power is a big difference, and all around hearns was just the man.. But Williams probably has a better chin..
I just wish he would have won so we wouldn't have had the usual five thousand hate threads per day like we already do, about him.
I've never been a huge fan of his and if anything I always just defended Margarito against the nonstop senseless hating I've read. Not to mention I still say Williams is overrated as hell and would have liked to see someone stop that bandwagon in it's tracks.
Now people are talking about how he's eclipsing Thomas Hearns as one of the great all time welterweights because he's well over six feet tall and happens to fight at god damn welterweight.
I believe all the hate came from the whole Floyd situation with some of his fans claiming he is the most feared fighter in boxing and to be honest I never disliked Marg it was some of his ridiculous fans that made me not like Marg.
