Cintron: "Anybody in the welterweight division can beat Hatton.."

    Direct from BoxingScene:

That comment stood out to me..

Hatton has his fans, his detractors, and hopefully a decent number of neutral parties who have an honest opinion about Ricky as a fighter.

I consider myself in the last group.. And I don't think he's such crap..

Ricky Hatton is a tremendous fighter in my mind.

Welterweight is deep, but Hatton could hang with the best out there, no?

I don't like his chances against a few a guys very much - but he's still extremely game in my mind and nobody to look past.

.......Size could be a major issue with all these big guys.. No doubt..

    What's the story?

Hatton is too small to be a Welter, we would see an Arturo-Gatti type crashing and burning in that division.

Too small to take the hits from real welterweights

    Too small to do damage

    Bad reach

    Bad height

Its unfortunate, I'm a huge Hatton fan BTW but he should stay at 140, there will be plenty of big fights in that division.

I simply think Hatton does NOt have the Body to fight at WW... Too short.. Too short of a Reach..

He is very Tough.... and Would still be able to compete.. But I dont Think he could make it all the way..

I agree the only fights he has are at welter weight and the only manof a similar build who's a champ is cotto or maybe shane mosley. Both would beat hatton in my opinion.

Hatton is a good 140 but he wont handle the guy at 147 who many are super middleweight inside a body of a welterweight.

He could because guy like Sharamba Mitichle and maybe Callazo but i dont see him competiting or having a title again in the weightclass e****ally the boy are to big for him.

140 still has alot of guys for him to fight

Pacquiao, Morales, Malinaggi, JMM, Mayweather at a catchweight near 140, etc. PPL will be rising through the ranks and new challenges will emerge.

Hatton couldn't make 135, Hatton/Pacquiao at 140 would be interesting though
