Pavlik/Miranda = FOTY

This fight was the highlight of my summer. I had been looking foward to it since it was annoucned and it far exceed even my high expecatations. I love when the referee Smoger breaks the fighters up in the 2nd round he goes "beautiful, beautiful" shows he's a true boxing fan. Even thought Pavlik dominated the later rounds, Miranda still hit him with some huge shots early and mid rounds. Both these guys have great chins, and I cannot wait to see Pavlik fight (and hopefully destroy) Taylor. I highly doubt there will be another fight that can top this one this year, and I can safely say that this is my FOTY.

Btw, I have HBO on demand and I've probably watched this fight close to 10 times, never gets old

So far, Pavlik vs. Miranda's been the FOTY for me. There's some good matchups coming up in the next few months though - the Taylor vs. Pavlik fight could be even better.

I literally sat fixated on the TV from the opening bell to the final blow. I was screaming out of my chair and my heart was racing during the entire fight. I watched it with a friend who has never really been into boxing, and now he's never missed a fight with me since.

I agree that was probably a better fight, since it was more competitive. I mean Miranda had his moments, but it was mostly Pavlik that controlled that fight. I just wish there wasn't open scoring it ruined an already great fight, even then it was still good even with Mormeck running that last few rounds.

I mean I understand what they are saying because I as well was on the edge of my seat during the Miranda/Pavlik fight. I was getting riled up and my heart was racing because the action was great, but also Im a Miranda fan and I was just hoping he would land that shot that would change the fight, but it never came.

I remember seeing the Mormeck/Bell II fight on my computer and I was the same way because of the 2 way action. It was that way until about the 10th when Mormeck knew he won the fight, but the rest of the fight was for sure FOTY material. It's too bad because the CW division doesn't get a lot of recognition and there actually is a lot of exciting fighters in that division.

yeah the cotto-judah fight really had me intense all the way thru...im still going with the marquez-vasquez fight as foty right now.......
