Why are they fighting so long from now? They should fight at January at the latest. Hell they should fight close to Mexican independence day if Oscar wants it to be a Mexican holiday.

I think Oscar is going to throw this fight to force Mayweather into fighting Cotto.

Everyone will say that Cotto KO'd Zab and Oscar while Floyd only won by points. Then Floyd would have no excuse not to fight Cotto and everyone will watch because everyone would want to watch Floyd get his ass kicked by a guy who has had more spectacular wins than he has.

I dont want to see this fight. Oscar is washed up and is a greedy son of a *****!! He had a chance to bring boxing back to the mainstream with a GOOD undercard...he got greedy and the undercards were subpar at best. If the undercard on this fight is ****...I will not watch this utter crap.

IF this fight happens and IF the smaller COTTO somehow manages to pull off the win, THEN we have another LEGITIMATE SUPERSTAR in boxing. He'd be huge

Agree, Cotto could use this fight.

Maybe it could lead to something even better^^

Cotto would cave Oscar's face in, IMO.

First of all, I dont believe this is true at all.

Second of all, if they were to fight it wouldnt be Cotto waiting 10 months to fight. He will probably have to beat Margarito first.

Ill be honest when I picture the type of fighter who would give Cotto a lot of trouble, I think of a guy who is a talented boxer/puncher with good hand speed, and can take a punch. Oscar in his prime was that guy, same with Shane Mosley. Im not sure how he would deal with Cotto at this moment though. He would have to go through a lot of pain to win. I dont like the idea of Cotto moving up to 154 when he is so good at 147 either.

Oscar is really bad for Boxing, what's up with fighting once a year, they could've fought by September or October.

I agree, he is fighting purely for money now. I mean he trains hard, and comes to fight, but at the end of the day, I dont think he cares if he wins or loses.
