lol,,hate much? heavyweights back then were much smaller. now there 220+ almost exclusively and when they hit you it can be lights out for anyone and 2 of 3 of wlads losses were obvious flukes which he showed in brew 2. just like with lewis's 2 losses. wlad is clearly on top of his game now. Im just stating the obvious
How would Wladimir Klitschko do against past heavyweights?

He'd do well, not because of his skill but because of his physical attributes. You guys realize that Joe Louis wasnt a great big guy. He was skilled, he is a legend, but we live in different times.
Just like a F-22 is better then an F-86, not saying that an F-86 is not a legendary jet.
Guys like, Lewis and Wlad would be great competition in any point in boxing.
How well would they do? I have no idea.
But saying that either a guy like Lewis or Wlad would get "sliced and diced", "knocked the **** out" back then is nothing but blind hate and ******ity.
Any of you ever spar someone over 6foot4 250lb of muscle? Well until you do, STFU. They dont need much skill when you are that big. All you need is a jab and a good straight shot.Comment

I thought the main point of nuthugging was defying logic, not physics.
also. the whole ****ing planet constantly gets taller and bigger, do you think that Wlad's grandparents where as tall as he is?Comment

Wald is very skilled,I'll state the obvious...but it's that chin, which is why I believe Foreman knocks him out.Ali slices him up...Frazier?...I don't know...good fight, but if he lands that left hook, lights out.
The chin is also why I would do not think he would fare well against many of the greats. The second teir guys, yeah he beats.
The young Tyson...lights out.Holyfeild, late KO by Holy...
Larry Holmes,Wald gets sliced and diced...
Just my opinion....
Prime Holyfield on the other hand was really quick and ****ing smart, he could get on the inside and do some serious damage with his counter punching. Ali probably wouldn't slice Wlad up(it's not like he's a tiny Quarry battling through the jab or a walking target like Cleveland Williams), but he could out point him with no trouble as I think he was just too agile and quick. Tyson should be able to **** up Wlad's body, but Tucker fighting tall and holding on the inside method could work; and Mike wouldn't be able to absord those early big rights against Wlad. Both have a good chance to take it.
This is all just fun speculation though, I would love to see these fights. Overall, I think Wlad's intelligence, size, and power would give anybody serious trouble; and I don't see him getting gassed or caught napping very often. His chin is really underrated, he was already teetering from fatigue when Brewster caught him(and he still didn't go down until after the bell) and the Sanders win is one of those "didn't see that one coming!" moments.Last edited by Thunder Lips; 07-13-2007, 09:36 PM.Comment

ive been apart of a few boxing forums, i have to say 18/20 of the people on the forums have no common sense. they think because they like a guy, he's more popular, and fought a long time ago that he'd destory any boxer today.
the only men in boxing who could probably outpoint wlad is his brother or lennox lewis. foreman shavers and tyson could probably "catch" him and win, but he also could beat them. styles make fights and you have to have some size or power to beat wlad...ALI was one of the softest hitting heavyweight champs in history, and holmes hit slighty harder. no chance
the average heavyweight of today would be champ in the 20s 30s and 40s, no disrespect to those guys but they've never felt power the guys who box today. it would be a CRIME to put wlad into the ring with marciano dempsey or louis, their flat footed style would get their faces caved in. i would put my money on a prime lamon brewster to beat most heavyweights of the past
alot of you guys have vivid imaginations, i hope most of you are under 20. ROCKY was a movie, not real lifeComment
