    Wongjongkam Likely To Avoid Donaire?

WBC flyweight champion Pongsaklek Wongjongkam (65-2, 34 KO’s) who has thrived on fighting mostly mediocre opponents with the majority of his fights in Thailand is likely to avoid newly crowned IBF champion Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire despite claims by his manager Piyarat that he would go for a unification bout if he is offered “a very lucrative deal.” [details]

Wongjongkam said... if the money is right.. he will fight Donaire in Manila..

we all knew that Wong wont fight outside his home because of his over protected promoter.. so it wont happen...

Vic wants a rematch at 115 so bring it on..

Wongjongkem isn't too interested in big fights right now. He's making a lot of bread fighting 6-3 kickboxers and Filipino pro debut imports.

Wongjongkam's only 2 losses was from a pinoy journeyman Jerry Pahayahay held in his country.

pong is saying that vic was offering him 250k to fight him in the US...

is that TOO much for flyweights??

hope they can lure him in the states...

Pong makes $400 a fight in Thailand so why would he encur the travel expenses to come to the US for less. The article mentioned that if not Nonito, then it will be for a Sakata fight in a few months/ There is no problem with that. Let Nonito get more than one major win and be a bigger payday.

Wonjongkam pisses me off, he's got so much talent but all he's doing is wasting it.

He's not wasting it; it's being wasted for him. he fights in a different world with much different rules and structure. Read Scott Mallon; he has good stuff on this.
