At this moment you have to go with Hearns. Williams has shown signs of brilliance, but it's early in his career and he has yet to have that breakthrough performance. This weekend could be the starting point against Margarito. Plus I think Hearns had more of that one punch power than Williams does.

Tommy Hearns because nobody had ever seen anything like him. Couple that with the way in which he just utterly destroyed his opponents...

I guarantee you that Leonard was shook after watching him flatten Cuevas.

Williams is a more solid. Hearns always appeared frail until BOOM, That freakin right hand of his was insane. Next to Shavers-Hearns was one of the hardest punchers ever. The problem was, It was just his rght hand-lol. Go back and watch the chicken dances Hearns right hand was responcible for-it will amaze you!

Overall Hearns was by far the more imposing at welter. I dont ever see Williams be THAT kind of devastating puncher.

Tommy Hearns easy. He had the weakest lower body I have EVER seen on any fighter, in any division but his upper body was massive. His biceps and traps were out of this world for his division. He was a beast.

guys, I dont mean who is better or who is more powerful. who's size at that division is more intimidating. Williams got an 82 inch reach and I dont know how he would fair with SRL. Dude's career is just getting started.

thats a tough ? then. Size is only intimidating when there is something behind it. Honestly its probably subjective depending on the opponent. Im pretty sure most of Hearns opponents saw his ferocious punching power coupled with his size and were more than a little intimidated. Williams from the 3 or 4 matches Ive seen of him is a volume puncher, without a lot of power especially for his size.
