Toney fought years at 160, this is a fantasy fight, what the hell are you talking about??

Everyone knows Toney can't make 160 today.

It was pretty much a shut-out for the first 9 rounds. That's a schooling. Nunn punched himself out a bit because he was landing so easily - that coupled with Toney finding a couple of nice shots in the 9th/10th swung the fight.

My point was that Toney certainly wasn't invincible at 160, which is what was seeming to be implied by some of the other posts. It also took him a couple of fights to squeak past an old Bodysnatcher at the weight.

A younger Hopkins deserves more credit than you're giving him. He wasn't embarrassed by RJJ anywhere near as badly as Toney was at 168.

The question wasn't "a young Hopkins v Toney" so I guess you agree with me that it's a pick 'em.

Toney beats the younger Hopkins 10 out of 10 times, the older Hopkins beats Toney 5 out of 10 times.

BTW James Toney was one of the best middleweights I've ever seen.

              I know. Your point?

The older version of Hopkins who fights from the outside fought at 160 too.

This really a no brainer for me. If the measuring stick is fights up to a common opponent which was Roy Jones jr, then Toney by a landslide. When Hopkins fought Jones he had no legit top level victories. In comparison Toney fought MCcallum 2x,Johnson,Nunn,Barkley,Sosa,PC Williams, and Littles. At 160 a prime and in shape Toney pounds an inexperienced Hopkins.
