I didnt think Taylors camp would start pumping out excuses so soon.
DiBella Wants Taylor-Pavlik Clash at 168

Who gives a crap? It's still a good fight, the same fight...both guys will benefit from this move up. Everyone should want this because they will both have more energy to throw more punches.Comment

It's not the same fight. It's not a middleweight title fight and like kball pointed out, Pavlik (and Taylor for that matter) may lose power moving up and thus it isn't quite as entertaining a fight.
Don't get me wrong, it's still a good fight, but it's not the same in stature (championship at stake) or intrigue.Comment

Taylor to Move to 168
I read an article on ESPN.com that said that Taylor will move to 168 after his fight with Pavlik. In fact Di Bella asked Arum if Taylor-Pavlik could be at 168 but Pavlik had no interest in leaving the MW division without the title. Anyhow they mention that Taylor had to shed quite a bit of weight leading up to the Spinks fight. Do you think this is just an excuse or does this somewhat explain his rather lackluster performance against Spinks and Ouma? What do people think will happen to Taylor if and when he does move to 168. Clearly I think Calzaghe would be a favorite to beat him because of the superior hand speed and technique. But outside of that I think Taylor looks pretty good in that division.Comment

If Taylor cant make the weight anymore fine, vacate the title and let PAvlik has his day in the sun. For Pavlik, I dont think this fight is about fighting Taylor as much as it is finally winning a middle weight title. This does however speak volumes about taylor and his crummy performances/choices in opponents.Comment

If Winky beats Hopkins this would set up a potentially very big re-match situation for these two. Kessler would also be a good fight for Taylor, probably spanking him hard for about 7 or 8 before Knocking Taylor the **** out.If Taylor cant make the weight anymore fine, vacate the title and let PAvlik has his day in the sun. Good post it will turn out to be a better fight at 168, anyway this will end all the excuses Pavlik was making, that this will be his last fight at 160 and he's having a tough time time making 160.

I am not sure that I would want this at 168. I agree with earlier posts that it might be more entertaining because both guys are at a more natural weight but neither of them is even remotely close to the champ at 168. I would not favor either of them at this moment against Kessler or Calzaghe just because they are both more comfortable at the weight. If both of them move up prove themselves somewhat and then fought at 168 I would be more interested. Right now I want to see the "undisputed" MW champ fight the number one challenger.Comment

I would rather see them fight at 160 just to see who the best MW in the division is. Then after the fight they can both move up, but for now they should just fight at 160. Yes it's still a good fight for us fans no matter what weight they fight, but I want this to be for MW supremecy.Comment
