I think a lot of fighters have false confidence to get in their opponents heads, for instance look at mayweather fights, the time to knock mayweather out is in the first or 2nd round, if you look at him he's kind of nervous and not real loose but around the 3rd round thru you can see him start to relax and get in a rhythm, but yea like the guy earlier said as long as you don't underestimate your opponent you should be ok, I mean look what happened to Roy against Glenn Johnson....

I think you need a lot of mental strength to go with your confidence to make it a good thing, like if a fight isn,t going your way having the self confidence to believe you can turn around, or if you get beat having the confidence to believe you can come back a better fighter.
I seen too many fighters with a lot of fragile self confidence, who put therself on a pedestal and can't get their head round it if things aren't going to plan, for example you could almost see miranda thinking "what the ****" during the pavlik fight and when naz got beat off barrera, that destroyed his confidence.

confiedence is made in training. THe more you train and the harder the more confient you will be. That is the Mayweather style of confidence he talk trash and try to back up his word.

each individual have different way of dealing with a sitaution so this question is abit aboard because for one guy he should be the confiedent for for another he should be more confiedent.

              Hard question to answer
